  1. Chumba!
  2. Ask OPC this question.
  3. Psychological I'm sure? I've got the RP23 on a 5 inch travel bike and it's set fairly soft. I switch to pro pedal (set hard) on flats and climbs. Maybe on a bike with less travel you'd set it stiffer so it would negate the advantages of pro pedal. I wouldn't put my studio on a block saying it's better though.
  4. This makes my blood boil it seems there are few places that are safe to ride anymore. Is there anything being done about this kind of crime?
  5. I'd say metal fatigue with the emphasis on FAT...
  6. Ha ha !! Got you Astana! April fool....
  7. Fascinating. Today isn't a waste, I learned something new
  8. OK there are obviously two schools of thought here. Contrary to what some may believe the piston does not SLIDE in and out on the surface of the O-ring during braking. The piston and the Oring surfaces stay in the same position relative to each other. Only the FLEX in the rubber seal (o ring) allows the piston to move forward and back. The only time the piston slides along the O-ring is when it needs to move forward to make up for brake pad wear. This happens because the amount of outward movement the piston needs to make up for brake pad wear exceeds the amount of flex the o ring allows for and therefore the piston will slide past its previous seating point on the o ring. As for the "elasticity of fluid" the whole point of brake fluid is that it cannot be compressed therefore it has zero elasticity. We could use water in our braking systems if it didn't have such a low boiling point and the nasty tendency to rust things. If anyone out there is checking the patent on the flex of rubber see if there is a patent on the cushioning effect of air in tyres while you're at it. We may all find ourselves in court soon. As I said before this is my humble opinion but feel free to pm me if you would like to ask me with what experience I allow myself to make these deductions.
  9. Sounds like pads are glazed. Maybe the compound is cooked now and thats why it keeps doing it after deglazing. Try put new pads. if the problems goes away you know it's not bearings or something else.
  10. This would be my guess, from my experience with race cars having this problem you should replace the seals. The reason why is that after time the seals wear unevenly on the surface of the piston and with this "loss of shape" they can't return properly. If you want to try a quick fix you can remove the seals and turn them around. This may make the pistons retract a little too much making for a "longer lever".
  11. Haha ! Classic!! Brokeback mountain biker.
  12. The motorbiker is just back in his crack.
  13. Mecer Pentium 4 with scanner/copier
  14. Since I've stopped having stick fights with the zimbabweans living along the spruit I don't sweat nearly as much.
  15. I think Dot 4 is mineral based and the higher heat range stuff (5 plus) is synthetic so it would not mix that well.
  16. I got the Hopes and 355's, used the yellow rim tape and have been pleasantly suprised at how well it all works. And with the noisy "krrrrr" sound of the Hopes the takkie brigade hear you coming from a long way so you won't have to have one on those heavy tring tring bells on your bars
  17. Shame, didn't his girlfriend show him? I said "big titted" not "big man boobed" you peasant. And her girlfriend joined us last time so shaddup...
  18. It's only a shortcut if you get caught
  19. Seems it's more useful than the rollers next to it....
  20. Ja and they should charge psychotic girlfriends for excess baggage too. And if they're fat AND psychotic they must pay double....
  21. So I was driving along witkoppen at about 6am heading out to Babbas lodge yesterday. Cruising down the hill there by Fritz pienaar there was about 8 mtbers in their club 100 kit going the same direction. Riding like they were the only people on the rode, swerving out to pass each other 2 and 3 abreast in the road with me trying to avoid being bumped by one on them. To quote myself at the time you guys were riding like "a bunch of f*&king idiots". I don't want to sound like a moaning old granny but really okes, it's behaviour like this that gives us cyclists a bad name. In future at least try ride single file through the dip.
  22. I agree with Lance, just the other day Farmer Glen wanted to have his picture taken with me at the end of Sani2C and I told him to bugger off.....
  23. I'm with Charvel on this, rode this combo at Sani and didn't lose out to anyone in the mud, my teammate saw his nana in the same mud on Conti mountain kings. My opinion is that tyre pressure and fork/shock set up and technique is more important than the actual rubber. Buy what makes you confident.
