Planning on riding Breedts on Sunday. Can anyone advise where the best parking is (I remember reading about a Farmers land or something) Also, anyone have a garmin file of the route to the shebeen? Ridden it once before, but it was a while ago from a different direction. Also, if anyone wants to join, we are planning on leaving at about 6.30, to the shebeen and back. Average to slower pace, not racing at all.

Thought I'd post in this topic: I've always been a Garmin fan, but my last experience has turned me. My tabs on the back of my Edge 500 broke this weekend. A quick Google search revealed this is a common problem, with hundreds of reports of the same thing. Off I go to the tech centre today; they want me to pay in R1250 for a new unit. I feel this is ridiculous - this is not a misuse issue, this is a known problem with the units. At best it could have been a product recall, at worst a straight swap for a new unit. When my Fizik saddle broke, I contacted Fizik, who agreed it was a manufacturing fault, and they promptly sent me a replacement, no cost to me (all the way from Italy) I don't feel this is a warranty issue, and even if my unit is out of warranty, they should do a straight swap. Pretty disappointed...

Seems like it's a major problem, with lots of reports of other units breaking the same way. Pretty crap if I have to pay in for a new one, when there's nothing else wrong with my unit. Will take it to Garmin and see what they say...

I dont mean to put a dampener on this thread and I think it's great to have these opening specials. But most of the items listed are shown as a discount (i.e. 20% discount) Nowhere does it state what the actual price is, and historically Cyclelab has set their pricing at a distinct premium to other retailers. So, are the prices really that good, or discounting off a high base price?

Just to give closure to this topic, Giant did indeed warranty the frame. Big thanks to Linden cycles (who didn't even sell me the bike) for handling it so well and quickly. 8 days from dropping it off I had my bike back.

that's the thing, it's completely sheared off, nothing connected still. Only noticed it when I hung the bike up at home... Pretty scary
