  1. oh dear.... I have a set of these (26") still unused (got them middle of 2013). Seems I made a bum purchase without even knowing it looking at two comments in the thread. Oh well...
  2. Hey guys... Wanted to get some feedback from anyone riding with Ergon Grips (MTB obviously). Is it really more comfortable (less pain and tiredness in wrists)? Do you feel "less in control" not being able to wrap your fingers around the bar? I'm concerned about holding onto the handlebar when it starts getting rough; is it an issue at all? Any feedback (good / bad) appreciated.
  3. Spacer did bupkiss... I fiddled with the freehub and axle lock nuts, somehow reducing play, and magically all is okay now. I am not going to strip it again or try and figure out what happened - it is fine now. Wheel spins sweetly with new grease and going for a ride tomorrow morning that will ultimately show if I did a good job or not. Thanks for the advice all!
  4. Yes I saw that after cleaning the lock ring and made sure it went back on. I think an additional spacer / shim could do the trick... will give it a shot.
  5. Thanks Jacquers. There is no wobble on the freehub - looseness is definitely between cassette and freehub. Also; the hub body is in very good condition
  6. Hey guys... Need some expert help here as Dr Google is not giving any joy. After a few hectically muddy rides over the last few weeks, and excessive Karcher time (I know, I know...), decided to last night strip the back wheel, clean cassette and hub and re-pack with grease. All this went down fairly smoothly but after I assembled the cassette back onto the freehub body and tightened the lock ring, there is a wobble/looseness between the freehub body and cassette as if the splines are worn - similar to in this video: Dr Google results reckon I need to install a spacer but I can't recall a spacer coming off when I stripped the wheel. There were also no parts left over after assembly. Now the cassette in question is this one: http://techdocs.shimano.com/media/techdocs/content/cycle/EV/bikecomponents/CS/EV-CS-HG62-10-3197B_v1_m56577569830820588.pdf This shows no spacer is required for the assembly...? Any ideas??? Was thinking of replacing the lock ring and 11T sprocket. Admittedly I did not check if there was a wobble before taking everything apart so don't know if it was like this before.
  7. +1 the admission to hospital bit. I'm on Classic Comprehensive and they covered everything (ICU, hospital, Neuro etc...) including helicopter ride to Milpark after I fell off a bike.
  8. Jeez! Sorry to hear.... Was that at BRB? How did that happen?!?!?
  9. queries@cycleevents.co.za Not sure what kind of response you gonna get but worth a shot...
  10. None... that stuff is vile... quite easily mistaken for small shampoo samples you usually get in some goodie bags
  11. It all sounds like set-up issues - shifters/brake levers not at correct angle and cleat not positioned correctly on right shoe(?) I'm sure someone on here will come up with great set-up advice OR you can go for a professional fitting...
  12. Any route details available?
  13. Broke L1 vertebrae on 16 Dec 2012 @ Northern Farm (yes, I was the guy getting airlifted to Milpark that day...). Got back on stationary bike by mid Feb and first off-road ride again on 8 June 2013, and still going. Not recommended...
  14. Try and get an appointment with Dr Maurizo Zorio at Milpark (if you're in Jhb area). Best Neuro around AND he is a keen cyclist!
