  1. With no definitive cause as you've stated I think you will have a difficult time making a case for insurance. As many have pointed out, the cause is the key criteria the insurance use to evaluate the claim.
  2. Those Nike shoes look like they are in great shape for being 28 years old!
  3. If you need some help removing some of the clutter in front of your desk, please let me know. I'd be glad to assist.
  4. And your location is listed as "The Moral Highground"
  5. I certainly don't see anything about an event in the section you posted. And it only mentions coverage for loss or theft, neither of which would apply in your situation.
  6. Maybe I'm missing something, but none of this seems to be relevant to your issue. Interesting to see "super cheap monthly premium" in the official document.
  7. That would definitely be helpful - I Googled to try and find something official, but came up with nothing. However, I do know one of the former Kargo MTB team members and I checked with him. He confirmed that the Kargo MTB team closed down end of 2016.
  8. Is it also ok for the guys having a moan to moan about the guys moaning about them having a moan, or is that taking it a step too far?
  9. That is correct according to his response in the article... Is this just a one-year break or do you think you might be done with full-time bicycle racing? I don’t know that answer yet, and I’m happy not knowing. I think I could feasibly come back to the sport in a year or two, or perhaps my interests change and I end up doing something else. Bike racing for me was about a real-world education and post-event reflection on the ability to set, finance and execute personal targets both locally and abroad. Once that learning begins to taper, it feels like time to venture into something else where the learning curve will be steeper again. So I guess the answer is: I don’t know yet, maybe I will return, maybe I will not.
  10. Not sure if or where you could rent. But just another suggestion to consider... If you buy a decent used bike and they don't like it, you can more than likely resell for close to what you bought it for if still in same condition. Would probably be less of a financial cost than renting. And if they like it, keep the bike and no extra cost spent on a rental.
  11. Slowbee can correct me if I'm wrong, but I really don't think his response is related to the type of advert. As he mentioned, I think it has more to do with the history.
  12. Was wondering the same thing - found this article saying he's taking a break from cycling in 2017... http://www.treadmtb.co.za/james-reid-its-time-to-move-away-from-professional-cycling/
  13. Pretty sure the Kargo MTB team no longer exists (as of end of 2016)
  14. I don't personally - at least not by dealer. I only filter when looking for something specific. EDIT: Perhaps I got off on a tangent - you were asking about the annoyance related to type of advert and filtering. I responded about annoyance in relation to the specific seller mentioned.
  15. I don't think it is the type of advert that annoys people so much as the MO of that particular seller. Not making a statement about whether it is right or wrong, just saying that is the cause of the annoyance in my understanding.
  16. Subtitle is misleading - Adventurers Martin and Jeannie Dreyer have become the first people to ride mountain bikes to the top of Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro. I've been fortunate enough to climb Kili, and when I read this title, I couldn't imagine how it would be possible to ride some of the sections. As the article itself states, there was a lot of pushing and carrying of the bikes, likely even more of that than actual riding. EDIT: Regardless, big congrats to Martin and Jeannie. Tremendous accomplishment! I cannot imagine doing the final ascent carrying a bike!
  17. Hmmm... Do I sense a subtle reference to another thread?
  18. I can't comment on what happened in the other thread, but I really don't think that anyone was encouraging the inappropriate behaviour on this thread (on either side). I think whatever "support" was given was in reference to the point being made. Unfortunately, due the fact that it was interlaced with personal comments, I think whatever constructive feedback was being offered was lost (on both sides). In simpler terms, the WHAT was being said was missed because of HOW it was said. On a lighter note, as a self admitted pedantic who does get annoyed by all the "breaks" for sale in the classifieds, it is refreshing to see a hubber use that spelling of the word in its proper context. Although it is disappointing that one feels that it is necessary to make that choice.
  19. A good reminder for all of us. Thought I'd just post some relevant sections as it was mentioned that some information is difficult to access via phone... 20. And here I thought it was Sunday... seems like a hub Friday
  21. Hahaha. Not for sale. But surely you've seen enough of my rants about "brand new" items for sale to know that's not going to happen.
  22. I still have the first (and only) mtb I bought brand new from the bike store - a 1997 GT. Although truth be told, I think the frame is the only original part left.
  23. Me too. I also thought thought the cost would be way less than owning a motorcycle.
