  3. Great idea at the local train station ???? Down a secluded country Lane . Spring lasted a whole 4 days ???? back to 6 degrees ????
  4. An afternoon ride yesterday with our mini heatwave . 21 degrees at 15h00 and a ride with a short sleeve shirt and no leg warmers , cracking . Absolutely loved it ???? Roll on spring ????
  5. Exploring the hilly lanes of Sevenoaks.
  6. Tribute to all the special people that have given so much in the last year .
  7. Am still thawing out, didn’t expect it to be so cold ???? At least it’s in the bank now !
  8. There is usually a song stuck in your head ,a random one at that . And you sing it over & over ????
  9. Have to get used to all the climbing round here. Tried to do a flat ride today ???? I suppose riding more often would be good if time allowed. At least it’s picturesque ????
  10. Bought all my Poc helmets from them ???????? There service is brilliant .
  11. Sbr could be a challenge on 1x12 . Glenvista climbing loop that NSBB does could be a good test especially comaro wall once you turn left. Compact all the way mate @ 50 life needs to be easier . I do like the 1 x for some reason though . Good to chat stay safe ????
  12. Hi ya mate , front is a 46 and rear is 10/33...Granny equates to roughly a 36 front and 26,5 rear . I would definitely change the rear to a 10/36 which is the biggest . Dropping the front surprisingly doesn’t make that much of a difference unless I went to a 42 , which might be a tad small. The 10 really does seem to make fair difference in gear ratios. I start spinning 95/100 rpm at about 55kph as far as I can remember, didn’t pay that much attention to it. I think 34/32 would do me on the road ???? that’s actually the gear ratios on the strada due as standard . Although for round here might actually be perfect . For Alberton and surrounds the current gears would be really good . The upside for me over the simplicity of 1x is I have to work harder . Agree with you on the appeal of the gear range though . It’s quite deceiving to look at first glance .
  13. Stole an afternoon ride and absolutely loved it. Took the 3T up a climb I was very weary of making with the 1X12 and set a PR . The 1X12 axs is brilliant . I haven’t really noticed the gaps in the gears apart from the odd occasion and I mean odd. Maybe thrice I have not been able to find the perfect gear and only for less than 30 seconds . If you racing I get it ,if you not,it’s quite surprising how well it works .The biggest downside for me is still the granny gear when you are absolutely knackered . But i do like it ,a lot ???? and the simplicity is brilliant ????
  14. Not yet , was testing it against my reacto. Damn it feels fast and switched on. 1x12 is ok until it goes above 11% Then i am not strong or fit enough . It needs a 36 cassette for me . Did 2x 32 km loops with nearly 500 m ascent each. . With 2 decent climbs in 1,5 & 2 km each . 2nd loop was a bit unfair on the reacto as I was tired from 1st loop and Saturday. A flat London loop seems in order .
  15. Double lap testing....1x12 is close to ????....my fitness and always wanting to spin rather than grind makes it fall short. But it was teaching me stomp a little harder and carry more speed,a few tweaks and it could just be brilliant .
  16. After every ride, am mostly to pedantic to put a dirty bike away. Only clean it myself, fairly thorough wash most times. Use muc off products 90% of the time .
  17. Good ride today ???? 5 degrees, it’s a small win but i’ll take it. And time out of lockdown and on my bike is a massive win !
  18. And rides ????
  19. Last Sunday’s ride, 1st one in 30 days after 100km running ????‍♂️ in January as it’s been to k@k wet & cold . Damn I missed 2 wheels
  20. ???? at least I had winter overshoes on not socks ????
  21. 100km ride out to Box Hill with Patchelicious . That was the only time the sun showed itself ???? Was a bit wet & chills ????
  22. I haven’t had a puncture in years of gravel riding . Specialized tyres seem the biz.
  23. Just in case someone is looking for a mint do it all gravel beast....nudge nudge ???????? Shameless punt ????
  24. Disc brakes are more predictable and not something you even think about after a few rides, even on steep faster roads or turns . But the biggest plus for me is tubeless 28 tyres, changes the ride quality 10 fold. Wider internal diameter wheels with tubeless tyres is the dogs bollocks, won’t go back to tubes again .
