  1. Have a look at silicone grips as well, you get the cheaper brands and then the well known ESI ones. You get different colours too
  2. In most cases its cheaper buying a new bike with a full groupo on.However get prices on frames, groupsets and see how much of a difference there is.Building up a bike may not be cheaper but is a much more rewarding experience ,and u can customize the bike to your preferences
  3. Shop location makes a big difference to pricing, and its not only limited to cycling, but most retail products. Most mtb's will come with either clipless or platform pedals,it depends on the brand /model of the bike
  4. The geometry is slightly more compact, and apart from the saddles, they usually have more comfy grips, and more feminine colours. In some cases you may pay a little more for a wsd bike

    SPD pedals

I think it was a good idea putting the spd's, considering you new to the road bike.Once you use to the rc3000 and putting more training time on it, you can decide if you want road pedals
  6. Dont know much about thd serfas, but a good alternative to the gator is the bontrager hardcase
  7. Very comfy, just be carefull ,some can be slippery when wet, even with gloves
  8. Rode through various conditions today, lots of grip in loose conditions, even on damp trails,it holds up well.im happy so far, time will tell
  9. What effect would this have on your ratios?wouldnt you have a narrower range?
  10. Decided to give the monorails a try
  11. I searched the forum, couldnt find a direct comparison of the two.Anyone rode both,or have input?
  12. Its time to change my front tyre,my bike sees mostly dry XC conditions, thats why i chose these two..i do go on the road as well, which one would last longer between these two?other tyre choices are welcome though Bushmaster2009-11-19 11:25:32
  13. The reason i asked is to see if theres any majour difference when it comes to seating and sidewalls.I guess its very similar, apart from the wirebead being a bit harder to put on(in some cases)
  14. On the crossmark wirebead sidewall, its written 52-559,?so its 52mm wide, and a 559mm diameter bead?and would the EPI always be mentioned?
  15. Maxxis crossmark is also available in 29er,not sure if its available in ust. Then theres the bontrager range..
  16. Ravx and giant make some decent trainers at a good price, depending on the model you can adjust it by your bars with a cable,or have a gell kind roller
  17. Which tyre would be better suited for tubeless?lets say for example between the maxxis crossmark ,foldup or wirebead?
  18. Is the weight saving really worth it?rather wear lighter socks..
  19. Best thing is to carry a spare tube.If you want an easy way,SLIME make glueless patches ,clean the area, and apply, works well if u have multiple punctures,or only have 1 tube
  20. Camelbak make an insulated bottle, not sure how well it works, but considering its a camelbak product it must be good.Anyone used this?
  21. Ok,i shouldnt mix the two..But,what problems will it cause later on?will the ammonia react with the oko?
  22. I did my conversion using a seperate valve, punching a hole in the tube and slipping through..working excellent.I initialy cut a presta from a tube, but that kept leaking by the stem area.I now got a ust valve Bushmaster2009-11-09 13:59:32
  23. Interesting..i am running ghetto, will keep that in mind..
