    I used to have slime in my tyres years ago when I had a 26er, I never had a problem. I did not bother with the liners.

    Trying to rebuild my eggbeaters was the worst experience of my life, The stupid little caps just crumbled when I tried to remove them (You do get new ones but it took forever to hack out the old ones), Then trying to remove the old bushings was the next mission. After that I binned them and went out and got a pair of Shimano SPD's
