Hey big guy, done 3of them...My thoughts are to put a better tyre on the back! 1.9 kenda karmas or something to that effect.(with knobs) Front tyre 2.4 mountain king if raining hard The mud and rain is HECTIC!!!!!!!!!!! Happy to say I won't be back for another Going to Mozam for some sun.

11-34 for is better for mtb. Mates and I have tried both and agree that the 34 allows you to stay in middle chainring on the hills 1 gear longer, slight heavier but not noticeable.
I think it is good for the sport!! The more programs that cover any cycling the better!! Good for new wanna be sponsors who are keen to sponsor the sport!
ROAG, they KZN based, but a lot of us join them from JHB in order to get a csa licence through them. I think only costs R50-R100 rand to join I am also based in JHB and only do MTB so have used Roag for the last 2 years.
Was there on Sunday morning last week, rode there from Broadacres I had no issues at all! NF in the morning is 99% safe. But I herd there was an issue there in the afternoon. Best advice, go there when there are other cyclist there. P.s The new single track by the river is awesome, as good as some of the stuff at Van Glaalens
Giant XTC over the Schwinn Mesa any day...my 2c Not sure of a price, but Giants come in at far cheaper price then other frames like spez, cannondale etc.
