  1. And here's how you transport the crash test bike when you're doing your charity work; building houses for homeless moles. http://i.imgur.com/SvjwCWk.jpg
  2. Yeah, as someone pointed out to me earlier in the thread, that IXS full face is the same mould as the Kenny. I think the linings may differ, though.
  3. That makes me think of what a colleague, an absolute novice, told me when she got back from riding a relatively casual single track event down in Sedgefield this Christmas. She overheard a couple of people who were walking through switchbacks moaning that "this isn't mountain biking!"
  4. Because none of the people who were suspended have complained on The Hub yet.
  5. And definitely block your ears when he gets close to they box and they call for him to shoot.
  6. The trail isn't as tacky as we'd like yet, still a lot of grass root, but the more people that ride it the better it will bed in so please give it a go, even if you don't want to ride the jumps there are options to go around them and the route through the trees is still really pleasant.
  7. You'd get usable but not ideal stills from an HD video, I'd imagine. I borrowed a friend's recently and accidentally set it to take photos at 1sec intervals instead of video and the images that came through were great quality.
  8. There is but the dodgy 'warez' site you have to download it from is full of nude buttocks.
  9. I'd say a km or just shy. It's pedally as hell if you want to hit all the jumps and you'll be breathing really hard by the time you hit the last one beneath the Virgin (hehe) but it's actually fantastic sprint/interval training. Will be good to do a couple repeats if you're training for Enduro.
  10. I like it, brave call on redoing it. Appropriately, that Morewood font reminds me of Archer.
  11. Which model?
  12. BTW, breaking news is that the Jamaican bobsled team has qualified for Sochi Olympics. Seriously. So I think we should just cheeeel, Winston!
  13. I don't have a problem with any of the gibes and chirps, they're mostly in good humour (it's better for your health to just assume the other person is having a friendly dig). The main problem as I see it is when people go completely off topic just to diss another type of rider or riding style or post in a forum they have no interest in just to cause trouble. In other words, if the topic is discussing cleats vs flats then you kind of expect the respective proponents of each pedal option to have a go at each other and you just have to take it as barside banter, really. However, when the topic is which style of baggies to wear, it's pretty immature if some guys come into your thread and post about baggy riders just being wannabe downhillers who only know how to ride the Spruit on long travel bikes. Likewise if someone is asking which 29er to buy and some twits decide to post about 29ers being lame and 26er full susses are the only real mountain bike. By all means, argue to your heart's content where it's relevant, it's a hell of a lot more stimulating than singing Kumbaya and passing the muesli around but don't forget that we're all united by a common love for a sport. Except Cyclocross. Until we figure out what Cyclocross is we should diss that to our heart's content.
  14. If anyone wants to flog their no-longer-used GoPro (plus chest strap if they have) please PM me.
  15. Duct tape: R20 http://i.imgur.com/9ruS7Ui.jpg
  16. In other words, their moms were really mad. Can't wait for this event though!
  17. I'm also keen to see how well they work in a slide situation. I think my biggest fear with them is shifting or rolling if you end up taking a dry duck dive. Report back once you've had one of those
  18. A three trailer load mole in the middle of a Joburg heat wave. I can tell you the rats enjoyed their beer last night.
  19. The moles on the Spruit have got out of hand. This enormous mound appeared on the new Willow chute yesterday.
  20. This is my real name. My family are Spanish immigrants with a tradition of naming their child after the first animal they see in the place they were born. The whole no-anonymity thing has been shown to lead to less conflict online. It's an extremely difficult thing to enforce, though. One way of reducing double posters could be to link a profile to a cell number and require activation from an SMS code. Due to Rica, any disputes can be traced… in case anyone wants to sue the whole internet for claiming they can't ride or something.
  21. On a single-brake single-speed semi-rigid with no helmet and bare feet. The purists way of riding.
