  1. That little guy was heroic.
  2. I can't make it anymore, wedding that weekend. Unfortunately, I can't transfer it to another hubber either so the prize is a bit wasted.
  3. Try http://gfycat.com much smaller gif sizes.
  4. a) When is provincial champs weekend? b) I can't stop watching your avatar.
  5. It's already been enlarged to A1 and framed in the lounge.
  6. The KZN boys sure know how to put it on. And then there was the nice bonus of Greg Minnaar joining the festivities, right?
  7. Quick question, what's a Joey?
  8. Can you adjust the power output of the lights or is it on/off?
  9. I hope he was using these http://www.wigglestatic.com/images/mks-3000r-med.jpg?w=430&h=430&a=7 and not these http://fcdn.mtbr.com/attachments/turner/528231d1268791001-canfield-bros-pedals-initial-review-arachnid_clear_big.jpg
  10. You need to combine the latest trends in mountain biking and running so ride a rigid single speed with no brakes barefoot. It's mountain biking at its purest.
  11. Just out of interest, someone told me recently that a lot of the pros don't use neck braces because it makes it harder for them to tuck and roll out of a crash. Any truth to that?
  12. That's the way mom sees it too.

  14. I'm banking on the top 3 all being discounted
  15. Exactly. Legging it would have just implicated him and probably resulted in a beating if he was caught. Hang around waiting, the cops finally arrive, act like you don't know what people are going on about, say some guy accused you of something, cop gets bored, realises this is just pointless paperwork, everyone stands around looking at each other for a few minutes and then lethargically disperse. Dude knows our cops are disinterested in anything that doesn't allow them to truncheon someone in the nuts or extract a bribe.
  16. What tipped you off and made you certain it was a theft and not the owner of the bike? I think most people would have been really worried about being mistaken and creating a racial incident (if they're white) so good on you for trusting your instincts.
  17. Mankini on Saturday. Got it.
  18. Does one have to wear long sleeve jerseys or elbow guards on practice days or is that just for the race?
  19. Is it a Subaru related rant? I have a friend who's having a big hassle with them. Where is the thread? EDIT: Are you going to put a tow hitch and bike rack on the back of that thing?
  20. Yeah, unfortunately you're going to have to spend a LOT extra on a bike with good new components. The only way you'll get good components without spending a lot is buying a second hand bike. You're not going to get any massive improvement by upgrading the frame and it's pretty expensive. If I were you, I'd upgrade the wheelset first. You'll feel the difference immediately with great wheels and hubs. Try and find a set that can be converted from QR to through axle at a later stage for when you do decide to upgrade your frame or fork. Good cranks, BB and pedals should be your next purchase. The Chucker is probably running Shimano octalink or an ISIS BB. If it's an ISIS I can sell you a good set of FSA cranks that I've never used. I'd then consider switching to single speed if you haven't already. You'll need a chain tensioner since you have vertical dropouts but it will make your ride far more fun. Lastly, change out the brakes. A solid set of brakes like Shimano SLX will make the world of difference. You can even run just a single brake for that uncluttered feel on the bars. Grips, bars and stems are all nice bling areas. If you're commuting, try pick up a 400mm to 450mm seat post. You can drop it when you're messing about but it makes riding so much more pleasant when you're just trying to get somewhere. Dial'd will have 90% of the stuff you need and you can pick up the rest at your LBS.
  21. There's your answer right there. It's like Park Run. You think you're setting a really great time and an U14 girl comes whipping past you along with her two younger brothers all running barefoot.
  22. Hey Jon, out of interest, why are you looking for a new bike? If your Chucker frame is still intact then an STP isn't going to offer you a hell of a lot more for dirt jumping. Maybe some better components that come standard with the bike but you'd be better off just upgrading the specs on your current bike. If you do want a new frame then I'd recommend the ones on Dial'd. At least you're paying for a significant upgrade rather than an incremental one. Just remember you'll probably need to upgrade or change some components for the new frame too.
  23. Then you should definitely report that too. We can't have these kids going around moering everyone. Break the silence!
  24. Yes. But you know me, I only make the same mistake about five times. I know you're not trolling and I respect that you're standing up for your opinion in the face of so much opposition but I just can't condone that kind of aggression. It's not the world that I want to live in. There's certainly some context that we're missing but there was definitely a better way to resolve it.
