  1. I will be on top of the Amphitheatre in the berg reserving my spot for the end of the world in 2012
  2. Thanks guys - makes sense. Is there also that much of a difference between x-9 and x-0?
  3. Can any hubbers tell me what the difference is (besides the obvious length difference). I cannot see specs on the SRAM website and unless I am really blind cannot see any markings on mine. It is an X-9. Would it make a difference if I used a different length to what is currently on the bike. thanks
  4. I was in the car on Saturday with my wife and we drove past a biggish bunch of cyclists who were riding taking up about half a lane (it was a double lane). My dear wife started bitching about them and how uncouth and selfish it is and that they should ride in single file - this after I have been riding for almost 14 years on the road. I proceeded to explain to her that I think it is safer for them to ride like that as cars will typically then give them a wider berth as they go past. If they are too close to the pavement and in single file, they driver may try sneak past them and in turn gutter them. She looked at me with the special look that says "You talk K@K and are an idiot" I was very tempted to "skop" her out the door at 60 kph
  5. I guess I am stuck counting wheel rotations to figure out how far I have ridden for another week while I wait
  6. forgot yesterdays weigh in - 98 this morning
  7. For those that have relied on the Royal Mail and our dear South African Post Office - how long does your stuff take to get here from Chain Reaction. I wanted to try out this whole CRC thing for myself so ordered a wireless Cateye computer and asked for delivery via the normal post office. My order was dispatched 12 Jan and I have heard nothing from the post office. I called them today and they said I should wait until at least next week. Just seems pretty long IMO or am I being a little too eager and over anxious?

  12. What about pressures for road training with the same tyres , should you go a bit harder?
  13. Gotta be Jens Voigt - there is not another guy out there that can bury himself for hos team like that man does. Jan Ullrich - I reckon the best cyclist who never really made it "Il Pirato" was the guy who thought the Alps were flat - he made climbing look easy
  14. Welcome back
  15. Thanks for all the advice so far I take it that these are all the things that you are carrying with you on the ride. What other general spares should I be looking at that will travel in the overnight bags?
  16. Does anyone have a complete (suppose thats subjective) list of what spares to take along on a multi day MTB race. I am planning on entering the Berg and Bush later in the year and need to start buying the spares slowly slowly. Wallet isn't gonna allow everything to be bought in one go - and its far easier to hide the evidence away from Mrs Guv'ment And does anyone have an idea yet of the 2011 dates yet for Berg and Bush
  17. Weight this morning 100.2 Height 187 Dunno if you are recording age but 39 Please add me to the WC1.1

  24. you need to figure out which foot you naturally put down first. this may sound pretty logical but my first attempt at cleats i was so intent on not falling that i unclipped my wrong foot first and when i cam to a stop i automatically tried to put my other one out. i can still remember the faces of the guys in the taxi next to me Pi$$ing themselves laughing while i lay in my special pretzel heap in the middle of the road
