  1. I sat there being amused by a dog chasing its tail, thinking how easily the dog is amused by its own tail, then I realised that I was amused by a dog chase its tail...
  2. Even the classifieds are annoying, and its not so much opinion that is annoying, but opinion that differs from your own that is annoying (or did I miss something?).
  3. ... and some sit behind their keyboards and judge those who have opinions about the topic at hand... we are all lovely people...
  4. a polygraph is probably the most unreliable test out there. It is really just a mechanism to shake the tree with the uneducated masses where a crime is suspected. It amazes me that it is still in use.
  5. what drugs were your friend on? #gotta_get_me_some_of_that
  6. The brand "Kevin Evans" means little enough to him not to defend it? I would imagine that his business will suffer as a result of this. I am always critical when cyclists are diagnosed with some weird and wonderful disease. Its like hearing about a restaurant or club that burns down and you immediately think "arson!"
  7. Yup. Apparently he threatened some of the cricketers and their families if they talk. He's either sh!tscared that who-ever he was working for is going to come around for a drink, or he's a really rotten individual.
  8. The problem is that the franchise quota players are purely making up the numbers (not all, but many of them). This dilutes the competition somewhat. Historically you would be able to cover each position in the Proteas side with at least 2 other specialists from the franchises, now we are seriously scratching our heads when we lose 1 or 2 senior players and have 1 or 2 that retired.
  9. I would like to see some sort of effort made to get senior overseas pros playing in the Sunfoil series and a way to expose our young talent to shield or county cricket. Imagine promising youngsters playing alongside old hands in a very competitive County or Shield environment or having some old pro's coming to ply their trade in SA. Pollock benefitted greatly from the presence of Malcolm Marshall in the Natal setup. There seems to be a lack of true mentors who can teach players in match situations how to respond.
  10. Transformed to the point of mediocrity.
  11. Weekend Argus reports 4 Proteas and 4 provincial players reported Bodi, so lets first see who gets charged.
  12. England playing brilliantly. Almost Aussie-like.
  13. You lot seems to be in a spot of bother... ol chap.
  14. Morris has a first class average of 31 with the bat. Shaun Pollock ended on a first class average of 33. Do you think that Pollock was a bowler who could bat a bit or was he an All Rounder?
  15. Morris and Rabada both seem to be determined to nail down the bowling all rounder spots in the side. JPD may have lost his seat on the bus.
  16. Hats off to England as well. They have been attacking for most of the day. Its a pity that our scorecard is full of 20's 30's and 40's with no one (so far) cashing in.
  17. I reckon 300 would be a very competitive total on the pitch. Lots of swing about and good movement off the seam. Nice and fast, lots of bounce. That second new ball is going to take casualties. We should at least try to have around 250 to 260 on the board by then.
  18. So now we just keep on playing him, shattering his confidence and then drop him? He would have been far better off finding his balance and timing in the Sunfoil series and with Cook coming off a really good few knocks, 2 games to show the selectors what he's got would be considered low risk. We seem to ignore form in the local games, making it very hard for players with higher aspirations to stay motivated.
  19. 100 up for SA with 1 down. Good start.
  20. he's only 33. Now if only the aussies had this type of thinking when it came to Mike Hussey, bowling attacks around the world would have slept a lot easier.
  21. So Stephen Cook may be given a go in the next game. <fingers crossed> What more does he have to do to get selected?
  22. just glad that the selectors didn't see the gap to play Tsolikile.
  23. ffs!
  24. Lets all speculate until more info comes to light (because thats how bikehub works). T.b.h. it could be anyone. So I'll throw my name in here as well... Jonty did it.
  25. Usually fixing entails underperformance on some level as punters place spot-bets on, say, an opening batsman getting less than 10 runs or a bowler bowling more than 3 wides. It is very difficult to swing a result as you essentially need quite a few players to participate to successfully swing a result. It may have a baring on the results, but it is not the aim of the exercise. It does not make it any more palatable. The reality is that the sponsors will probably withdraw, our sides may get disqualified to participate in the Champoins League and players and intermediaries face stern legal action.
