  1. Lourensford would have been the only suitable venue in the Helderberg area, but it is rumoured that Lourensford's venue fees would be too expensive. Since the last agreement with Lourensford lapsed, the love affair ended.
  2. I deal in Euros. Just remember that hey [emoji6] Soon you will all call me the Gupta of Mountain Biking.
  3. Last time I checked, Meerendal operates independently from TBMTBC with regards to management and maintenance of the trails. TBMTBC members have access to use the Meerendal trails (presumably the club had to pay an annual usage fee?). The last prologue was held primerily on Meerendal with Hoogekraal also being used and access via the quarry and 1 or 2 other neighbours who is not part of the TBMTBC network. Furthermore the new owners of Meerendal deals in Euros, so I doubt whether this was a consideration at all. I like it that they identified the risk early and made the call now. As far as suitable venues go for a prologue, there are less than what we would like to think. It is probably a bit of a lazy decision as they can merely roll out the previous prologue route, but I prefer this than having to make the call to cancel the prologue 2 days before the start of the event. It is probably also the closest next best thing to CT. Riders would have booked accommodation etc. for registration and the prologue, and keeping it close to CT makes sense. Just as a matter of interest, what other prologue venue does the esteemed bikehub community think should have been used given that there is a month left to put everything into place? Lots of Friday-litus today with very little constructive comments it seems.
  4. Regrettable, but definitely the right call.
  5. Has anyone successfully transported 3 mountain bikes on that Thule rack? I love their products, but wish that the spacing between the bikes was just 2cm wider to make it a bit easier to actually get 3 bikes on a 3 bike bike carrier.
  6. I see Neil McKenzie is the new batting coach. I enjoyed him as a player. He was very unlucky to play in the same era as Jacques Kallis, otherwise we may have seen much more of him in the green and gold. Who is the outgoing batting coach?
  7. Rassie will be care-taker coach. The only clear thing is that Jurie Roux is no longer involved in the selection process due to some financial shenanigans at Maties a couple of years ago.
  8. Ou Lambtjops is also out for an extended period... http://www.sport24.co.za/Rugby/lambie-injury-a-dilemma-for-coaches-20160217 Any U19's that we can fast-track to the senior side perhaps?
  9. Try a topeak floor pump. Quality seeks quality... no but seriously. I check and replace my sealant every 4 to 6 months and have had very few "Marsians" in 9 years of using the product. How often do you replace your sealant?
  10. Well played boitjies. After being screwed over in India, then walking straight into a well-prepared and determined England test side, losing the series, and then being 2-0 down in the ODI's you've come back to take the series. The doubters will always doubt, but today I am very proud of this team.
  11. and AB just put the 'Braahhh!' back in Abraham. Well played son!
  12. We could have bowled line and length and had them 240/6 after 50 overs. I liked the approach of trying to bowl them out, even if it cost a couple of runs. I thought Broad and Topley bowled exceptionally well first up. You have to feel for poor Rossouw. He has to live off scraps and then gets shoved up to order in a pressure situation. If Amla and AB are there in 10 overs time, we'll be pretty close to winning the series.
  13. They both are getting more wrong than right today.
  14. Tonight saw the rise of Chris Morris. Not quite the next Klusener, but certainly an enforcer to be reckoned with. Morgan's captaincy almost won them the match, but with catches dropped that should have been held, his job was considerably more difficult than what it should have been. All to play for at Newlands!
  15. 262 all out. Surely we should get this fairly easily?! Ave score batting first on this particular wicket is 380 for the last 3 ODI's.
  16. Miller / Rossouw are should be fightling it out for 5, agree on JP and Behardien for 6 and Morris / Wiese for 7. I doubt whether they will be tinkering too much with the setup at the moment though. If anyone may miss out, it would be Tahir for another seamer at the Wanderers. England will most probably substitute Jordan for Broad for the next game giving them another all out attacking option with the bowling and a guy that can hit a long ball towards the end of the innings. Lets hope the weather does not ruin the party on Friday (or Sunday, as current forecasts are showing some rain in CT over the weekend!). Lets hope we can level the series on Friday. It would set it up beautifully for Sunday.
  17. Clinical performance today. Roll on Pink Day on Friday.
  18. Hmmm. I'm on the fence to whether this is going to be a Toyota and F1 or a Porsche and Le Mans story...
  19. Anyone else pick up on this? Aparently the Allblacks have problems counting beyond 7. http://www.rugbyonslaught.com/2016/02/heres-moment-nz-used-8-players-to-win.html
  20. How many times were you tested during your 2 Epics?
  21. Willey is soft. De Kock is hard!
  22. Surely we are now out of the tournament? Disappointing to say the least.
  23. I don't think forcing players to stay in a domestic league is the right way to go about it. Rather make it attractive for them to stay on, and for some internationals to come play as well. The problem lies therein that with our transformation charter, we have no space in teams for internationals, never mind if the money to get them here magically appears from thin air. It seems like none of the players wanting to go play in the MCL are knocking on the door to play for the Proteas, so why not give them the opportunity to cash in a bit? Its not like WP Cricket or Gauteng Cricket are going to give any of them a benefit year (like in the old days).
  24. Well done Proteas and Rabada in particular. I was wondering who our next match winning bowler was going to be.
