  1. Best wishes Comrades runners. May your legs stay strong and your mind carry you to the end. Will be supporting you all to the end. Let us know your race numbers so we can track you. Come back on Monday with the war stories please
  2. Yip. I think I need to rethink my route.
  3. Agree re the feeling of flying down the downhills, speeding past all the stationery cars, etc. Negative things I have learnt: - Pavements from Sandton to Parktown are in a shocking state Sewerage smell across the road from Summer Place (building site) is sickly Pedestrians reading their phones while walking are dangerous Pedestrians do not know what to do when they see a bike coming towards them on the pavement Motorists do not let pedestrians nor cyclists cross the road when the green man is in their favor and the cars want to turn across the walkway.
  4. Thanks for your insight. Just a quick 2 questions: - Hubby is the main member. We have filled in the forms for him. Do I have to do the forms as well, and if so, how? I have a Fitbit, but when I look at the Active Dayz it is logging as hubby wearing it. This is a stuff up as if he goes to gym and I cycle, we are only getting 1 Active Day. How can I can it please? Thanks
  5. Use as in get points. Okay. Health assessment booked and active dayz in place. Thanks
  6. Does anyone know if Momentum runs a "course" on how to use Multiply optimally?
  7. Diarised. Thank you. See you there
  8. Perfect for me. Sorry, cannot make 21st January at the Spruit as we are away
  9. I am interested as well please. Thanks
  10. Me 3
  11. Would love to join you in the next one, especially after Route 99 that kicked my butt. Please keep us posted.
  12. Thanks. Looks quite flat and fast. Wonder if t is single track or Jeep track or farm roads?
  13. Anyone doing this race? Where can we find a route profile please?
  14. Entered my first triathlon in January 2017. It is the Xterra Buffelspoort Lite which is: - Swim: 400m; MTB: 19km; Run: 6km Any advise re training for this noob please? I have done duathlons but that was: - 2.5km run 15km MTB; 1.25 run Thanks
  15. Eina. The thought sends shivers down my spine. just touching putting weight on these spots when rolling over in bed is enough for me.
  16. Thanks all for the advise. I will seek GP opinion on the hard bumps should they get better by tomorrow as they seem to be healing slowly but surely (I hope that I am not imagining this)
  17. Corrected. Thanks.
  18. I did the USN race on Saturday. It was not my day and took 2 falls. The first one when my tyre came away from the rim while going around a corner (not sure why) and the second after loosing concentration. I fell really heavily onto my left side and have 4 enormous bruises of which 2 are rock hard and very sore. In the second fall I flew over the handlebars and landed on my chest. My ribs are a bit tender but my left side just to the right of my hip bone is very sore. What can I do to recover quickly or it it just time and patience. Also, what sort of training can I do to help aid recovery but keep fitness up. Any sort of jarring on my legs is painful and riding a bike hurts the bruises.

    USN MTB Cup #5

After 2 tumbles and a flat I also wish the results were ignored.
  20. Found out who helped me on Saturday - none other than Paul Cordes! He was not racing this time around but escorting his daughter around the 10km track. Thanks once again.
  21. To the 2 gentleman who stopped to help me with my flat tyre (I was doing the 30km and they were doing the 10km with their kiddies). You guys are my heros. I managed to finish the 30km ride which I would not have done without your help.
  22. Bump in case
