  1. To the 2 gentleman who stopped to help me with my flat tyre (I was doing the 30km and they were doing the 10km with their kiddies). You guys are my heros. I managed to finish the 30km ride which I would not have done without your help.
  2. Anyone know venue and date of the next USN race please? Also, website to enter if possible Thanks

  4. Eina, bliksem. That looks sore. Hope you heal quickly. As for the driver of the car - well not much to say about her, except idiot.
  5. How do you aid a speedy recovery after a hard event or training session?
  6. Results up on Racetec site should you have worn your timing chip. Not may actually wore one.
  7. Nice ride except for the sand. Great support from Sondela employees. Always a nice weekend. Also wondering about the results.
  8. Anyone here by the name of Justin Brown who did the USN race today? I have your Racetec chip. PM me if you are Justin Brown and want your racetec chip back
  9. I would also like to know. I actually doubted myself and checked that I had the right date for the race. Do we collect our silly little stickers today from Epic Sports or am I wasting my time driving there?
  10. Any idea of what shop in Centurion as the assometer please?
  11. Good luck for the remainder. Thanks for this. Really excited to read this every day.
  12. What saddle should I be looking at to replace my old, worn out saddle? It would be for a women and mountain biking specifically. No multi stage races and no really long races / rides. Longest ride ever done is the Momentum 94.7, 55km mountain bike race.
  13. I am sure you cannot wait for the day now. All the hard work behind you
  14. Sincere condolences to the family and friends of the MTB rider. May he cycle in peace. Speedy recovery to the 2 roadies.
  15. Thanks. Are you doing it? Good luck if you are
  16. I know the Epic is starting next weekend. was wondering when Ironman is. Best wishes to all doing either of these events. I admire you fore your strength and courage.
  17. Best wishes to the cyclist for a speedy recovery
  18. I have read that tri cycling shorts are far more comfortable (i.e. less chaffing) than normal cycling shorts (this for mountain biking, spinning, etc). Is this true?
  19. Residents are strongly advised not to cycle or walk their dogs in any of the open veld surrounding Irene or Smuts koppie. Last evening, between 17H00 and 18H00, two Irene residents were cycling on the koppie, East of the railway line (opposite Stopford Road). They noticed three black males ahead on the trail and decided to turn around. The three black males chased after them and attacked them from behind. Both cyclists were assaulted and their mountain bikes stolen. Last week, many of you will also have heard that a lady walking her dogs in the veld, South of Gem Village, did not return home before dark. After a long search on the ground and by helicopter, she was found some hours later, extremely traumatised from her ordeal. There have been a number of attacks in both these areas in the past and residents are urged to rather cycle and walk where they feel safe.
  20. Looks like 18 May for the MTB race and 17 May for the roadies.
  21. Anyone know when the Sondela mountain bike race is (I think there are 2 in the year) please?
  22. Anyone had a problem with uploading data from a Garmin Edge recently? I have tried the automatic upload as well as the manual upload and it just goes into a continuous spinning upload cycle and nothing gets uploaded. I have looked up on the Garmin site and it looks like it is a general problem overseas but cannot see any Saffers having the same problem. If you have had this problem, did you manage to correct it and if so how please? To add - I used the Garmin on my Saturday ride and uploaded that data with no problems.
  23. Anyone riding tomorrow at Modderfontein? Hope they have cleaned the place up as I saw in December / January posts that the grass was long, paths unkept, etc.
