  1. As far as I see it, with Donald working on the bike I have caught "a break" ... if he finds the gremlins and sorts them out I am happy. Even though I am not thrilled with the delays, at least I know the bike is going to be reliable, or so I am hoping. Will give her a few short rides around the area before venturing too far from home to test things out, even thinking on holding with buying new tyres too in order to see if she is going to run properly, though I will prob. get a set of new D606's on the day of collection, and just play it safe. Today is day no. 300 that my bike has been in a workshop. By all accounts, unless there is another mishap along the way, I would hope to get her back on 303 Wed, 304 Thurs or 305 Friday ....
  2. Mechanic is off sick....hoping for day no 303.
  3. Am I the only one holding onto my chair when this dude rides the trail with the extreme exposure sections.
  4. Today is day 294 Sooooo.... Tues 295 Wed 296 Thurs 297 Hoping for Wed.
  5. Already got the indicators changed over to LED's while it has been in this workshop. Secured a second hand loom last night, including a pair of engine mounts as it seems the chop who worked on the bike before lost the mounts. Had Uber deliver the loom this morning, and the good mechanic noted that there has been work on the loom and not all the switch bits are on. With the old and new loom, and a little extra cable he will stitch them together. At least I have a few spare items that are on the loom for any future issues (Switchgear being one of them). So a few extra days added on to the race no. and I also need to accept that I am bumped down the list of projects too for a day or so as this was completely unexpected and other bikes are also in line for work. Are we actually going to be into the 300's with a race no. .... maybe, but I think not!
  6. We do not talk or think about such trivial matters with this bike anymore.
  7. Correction, that number is going to go up. From the mechanic.......It is looking like a fault along the earth in the loom somewhere. And then you switch on the ignition to start the bike and it starts oozing power out of the wiring
  8. Today her race no. is 289 It looks to be the day.
  9. So a good "race no." then
  10. 287 ...... he needs to fit a helicoil, after the broken bolt was removed from the case, he was not comfortable with the thread left in the casing and that he would get proper purchase when torquing the case down. So hopefully today I can collect her, and at least there looks to be a break in the weather to allow for the collection.
  11. Looking forward to day 287. The engineer removed the bolt from the case, mechanic notes there is very little purchase left with the thread in the case, Monday a helicoil will be fit and then hopefully she can be closed up and reved up.
  12. Today is day 284 since sending her to the first workshop. Tomorrow is day 285 ..... No. 285 = a nice race no for the bike
  13. Got a WhatsApp this morning saying the bike will be ready late afternoon ....................... so ja, even with this rain coming down in CT I am still flipping excited today. Will only be able to pick her up tomorrow though as I have a late meeting with a new client
  14. nice bike, in a nice part of the world.
  15. Started watching Landman recently .... pretty damned good show.
  16. Unless anything goes wrong, it seems Sat. will be the day for collection.
  17. Hopefully one week left till she is rocking and rolling, though I am sure the Easter Holidays may have added a day or two to the end date. CURRENT RACT NO. PREDICTION = No. 278
  18. Parts dropped off this morning. News is that I can expect the bike back in two weeks, but probably sooner. He has a couple of bikes in, and (I do understand this) my bike has gone to the back of the line as we had no time line as to when to expect to find a flywheel. See he also cleaned out and media blasted the starter casing inside, looks like new. Mentioned that the bike has been standing for a very long time now, and I may need to ask him to clean or service the carb. He responded that he has already stripped it down and cleaned it out. What a legend. Front indicators have been fit, rear to still be done.
  19. That is all I needed ... actually a little more. The Stator cover I got back from Wynand had the sight glass closed up. This stator may also be in better condition. I am freeeeeeaaaaking ammppeed.
  20. Ladies and Gents, we have struck gold. Going to collect the parts this evening.
  21. A good watch, Omar Saidi's journey through Africa
  22. Chuck did not die, he decided to step over to the other side to see what is out there....death did not take him, he ordered death to drive as an Uber for him.
