  1. Tyson looked like he was laboring on that knee of his too.
  2. Got a spec or two of dust in my eyes from the house 4 blocks up the road doing renovations just when I read that line about the ashes.
  3. CF Moto have a great price point 450 twin, that looks good and by all reports is a ripper of a bike. Current shipment just landed in SA.
  4. would be nice if BMW make that a 21" and not a 19" front wheel.
  5. Did a late evening client meeting out Scarborough side of the world.... a good ride out that way. I should have stopped and taken photos on the night trip back..... but did not like the idea of stopping on the door of the road in the dark and having some bloody car ran into the back of my bike
  6. Definitely noticed that the MTB skills do not translate 100% 🤣 The new 2025 KTM 390 Adventure has my interest ........................
  7. Did some sand training today ..... the normal and medium depth sand was "ok" ... the deeper sand kicked my ass!!!!
  8. This is my poor neglected GT Meatball that has seen very little to no action since working from home
  9. Or go a little larger https://rookcycles.com/collections/new-bikes-in-stock/products/rook-race-2-matt-metallic-blue
  10. Nice bike, but given this is not a bike with horizontal drop out I would honestly run the front and rear brakes to avoid the risk of failure with the current SS setup, and once you see some wear in the chain, your tolerances will be worse with more risk of failure. I have gone full circle with ghetto setups running SS and when you get a proper SS frame the difference in wheel security and ride feel with proper tension is night and day.... and our daily commute loop was 50km, in rain, wind or shine in CT. Something like the ROOK One is a good buy to get started on. https://rookcycles.com/collections/new-bikes-in-stock/products/rook-one-the-emerald
  11. @Kenty so how did you convert a Giant OCR 3 frame into a fixie? Are you running a magic gear ratio?
  12. Have you learnt to "relax" your legs yet and "freewheel" while clipped in?
  13. I would say from experience at least fit a front brake .... when the chain snaps you are left with only the soles of your shoes on the tar or your front tyre to slow yourself down.
  14. A fixie is only scary in the beginning when you forget you are fixed and the bike bucks you ... but you learn very quickly
  15. Did my first "proper dirt ride" this past weekend in the Overberg area, on a open ride hosted by the BMW motorad club. Total 6 hours in the saddle, including the just over an hour to get there and then the same timeframe back again. The route was out from Botrivier side, eventually ended up in Caledon and then to Dassiesfontein for lunch/brunch. I have no cooking where I was most of the time, but it did not matter either. A nice loop good scenery and company. Really appreciated that the group was welcoming to new riders and tentative riders, no personalities, and very well run ..... stops were kept to an absolute minimum, so you do more riding and less talking. First few KM felt a little sketchy and then I settled in on the dirt ......legs are toast from standing and "pumping" the bike through undulations and over obstacles like I would have done on the mountain bike, but all in all flipping awesome first dirt ride experience. I should have however taken more and better pics!
  16. Enjoy the ride / event! Will be able to join in you 4 years time on the 950 Adventure
  17. @Andymann Not sure if I missed your loop and schedule down to the Cape, if you are keen to share this please, do and if you are keen to have people pop in along the way just shout.
  18. Good listen
  19. This must be the best example of how to fit a tool tube to a bike
