  1. Frail, it takes time! You can't expect changes to be seen in a month. And it's an ongoing process. You can't expect to gooi a few stickers and WHAM.
  2. Agreed, but read what you just said! "I've seen too many people with these stickers on their cars driving like tjops". You've seen the stickers. And you went ballistic. BUT, now you think about the 1.5m and, if human nature persists you might just apply it!
  3. Hey ouman, klim op daai poegie van jou en ry solank huis toe, ek sal jou netnou vang. Die SLIM mense praat hier. Agreed though Dirt-rider, it's a personal choice. I don't ride with a TB sticker on my car, but I've been told on numerous occasions that the cages (sorry, CARS) have seen them and then just checked their mirrors for the extra second.
  4. BB, it's to raise awareness. I agree with the way you see it, but if one motorist takes it in it changes a lot. Look at the Think Bike stickers. Yellow, NASTY, and it can be seen from afar. And I maintain that they have raised some awareness under motorists.
  5. I don't pedal as often anymore, and I don't visit theHub, but this was a huge shock! RIP Burry. Cherise and the rest of the family, my thoughts and prayers are with you.
  6. The Elite bunch http://i873.photobucket.com/albums/ab300/piemansa/Helivac%20Marshaling/Auto%20Alpina%20Cycle%20Race%20-%20Oct%202011/33a7f3a6.jpg Elite breakaway, with winner in Didata kit http://i873.photobucket.com/albums/ab300/piemansa/Helivac%20Marshaling/Auto%20Alpina%20Cycle%20Race%20-%20Oct%202011/4f6a16c0.jpg
  7. PM me for details.
  8. Slowpoke, I have NO idea what you're trying to say to me or AMZ.
  9. As I learnt from you dear AMZ. From the person who was completely against TB, who was ALWAYS moaning about the marshals, to the biggest convert the moment he got elected to the board of directors. And as for me being anti TB, not at all. Anti the power in charge, YES! And it's comments like this by the Chairman of your board, and the defense thereof by another director, yourself, that makes me wonder.
  10. EISH, not a nice thing to say, especially when coming from the chairman of a road safety campaign! TNT, I can add to the list if you want, but a lot of that was not done by the man himself.
  11. Only when he's not putting on weight.
  12. What about the beer drinking pie chowing fat boy???
  13. Vertel mooi waar hierdie pad is asb!
  14. Mojo, I said this tongue in cheek!
  15. But it will feel GREAT!!!!!!!
  16. Until brannas and Coke, or a free lita Ford Cortina wif big takkies come into play! I have marshalled 2 Tour de Soweto races, and at both races the people in and around Soweto were great. Yes, there were problems here and there, but in general the people were more tolerant, etc. (this includes the taxis!) than the people we read about here.
  17. Unfortunately VERY VERY true! I work in Rosebank as well and some of these fancy fancies have tried to intimidate our security to let them park on the company grounds. And yes, the stereo typical 4x4 SUV driver. Scotty, found this on the bike as well. East Rand people are more tolerant.
  18. Tell me where. Will get some mates on bikes and spin his car full of chips.
  19. Daarsy nou!!! If a 1980, fully rusted 2.4 liter Toyota Hilux, overloaded to 2.5m above the cab sits in the same lane it's an "african thing". But if 2 cyclists sit there it is comparable to murder. EISH!
  20. Eish, and you need a pill, a CHILL pill. Everyone in this country and the Hub has a right to an opinion. Not so? Or is yours the only one that counts?
  21. Agreed. One in 10 people might be the asshole on the road. Unfortunately the relaxed drivers are always at the back of the queue.
  22. Ja, Winnie and the blue light brigade.
  23. I have 2 pairs of Mr Price Sport specials. OK bibs for short rides (max 90 minutes!) Anatomic Gold - comfortable padding. Maybe a bit on the thin side for those Panorama or Jock days, but The Fast One type rides, 100%, actually 110% Vermarc for me is tops though. I (1)don't have the R's and (2)can't motivate R2500 for a pair of shorts. The Vermarcs are great and VERY comfortable.
  24. Knievel, you by any chance drive a Kia????
  25. Anyone have a black armband that I can use. Not doing the Argus but will wear it while marshalling this weekend.
