  1. Hi Guys, hopefully someone here can help me. I am looking for a live centre and a drill chuck for a wood lathe. My headstock and tailstock are #1 mores taper. I see Adendorff has a MT1 live centre for R300 but no drill chucks and MT1-B16 arbor in stock at the Cape Town branch. Tools4Wood has some options but that is R1200 for a WoodRiver chuck with MT1 arbor. That is a bit out of my price range. Is there any other place in Cape Town area that will have this stuff or maybe another online shop?
  2. Jaco, wat bedoel jy met: "it's not an all out race vibe"? When that timing pod goes "Peeeeeeep" then it IS all out race mode! Hoogies will be a pedal fest. You will be knackered at the end of a stage and if you're not then you did not pedal hard enough. Do not rely on a water point, this is a self sufficient race. If there is a water point then happy days but if you ride with only one water bottle and there is no water point then you might just die. I don't ride Hoogies often but I am pretty sure there is not water crossings where you can fill up your bottle. 5 stages means climbing up 5 hills. You either climb or you race down. Prepare yourself for about 3.5 hours on the bike. Take enough food with you to sustain you for that time. I don't think just an energy bar or 2 will be enough for the whole day, but that's just me and I eat a lot. And because this will be your first enduro, go and watch the video at the bottom of this link about how to enduro: https://www.wpcycling.com/mtb/enduro/.
  3. I saw your first post during the week and wanted to ask how much to make me one. I will definitely take one off your hands if you still have some left. That is if you are willing to send one down to CPT. Will send you a DM.

  5. Is jy seker? https://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/gear/article/pushing-the-limits-of-fork-offset-an-experiment-45343/ This article really makes me think it's the CSU that determines the difference and the fact that if you buy a new CSU you have to select the correct offset.
  6. Correct me if I'm wrong here but do you not need a new CSU to change the fork off-set and not a different set of lowers? As far as I know the off-set of your fork are determined by the CSU. Is MRP different to FOX and Rockshox in this regard?
  7. I made a Christmas tree for the office. Not to complicated but it took me a little longer than I thought it would.
  8. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that not all tool are VAT only. Most woodworking and machining tools does not have a customs charge but there are a lot of cycling tools that attracts a 20% customs charge. Best bet will be to download the Customs & Excise Tariff schedule off the SARS website and search for the specific tool you want to import.
  9. But, but, where is the pictures?
  10. Jonkers is open again. Post from the MTO facebook page. MTO Trails - JonkershoekSpSonSsoSredS· 2 October at 15:54 · Jonkershoek will open it's gates again tomorrow morning. Please take note of the new operating hours: 7:30 am until 4:00 pm Monday - Sunday (until further notice) ...We would like to thank everyone for their participation and consideration during the past 2 weeks. We look forward to welcoming you all back in the valley.
  11. I had an E-thirteen trs 2.35" front and back on my Following MB. The clearance with the 2.35" was enough but only just. The 2.5" will be a big gamble and I think you will end up replacing it with the 2.3". Maybe it will be fine in the dry but in the mud you will definitely have a problem.
  12. I find that the sizing chart for the Evil bikes are a bit off. I am 1.87m and I rode a large demo Following V1 for about a month. As much as I wanted the large to be the correct size (special running on the frame) it was definitely to small for me. I ended up buying the XL Following MB. If it was not for Brenton, @Bibi, that let me test the bike for so long I would have ended up with a large frame and not a happy Evil rider.
  13. Someone obviously did not watch your video....
  14. BMT in Stellenbosch. I asked them to order me a pair last week Thursday. They phoned me yesterday to inform me that it's there. And the best part.... This used to be the more expensive kneepads, I think around R1900 - R2000. I picked these up for R1200. Apparently Ion drop their prices on all their MTB stuff to be more competitive.
  15. Bought these bad boys yesterday. Have not tried them out on the trails yet but they are super comfy just sitting on the bike with them. Might get a little hot on long summer days but they can zip on and off!!
  16. Entered! Now to get a new helmet so that I can start training. #kakkingforklippies
  17. I don't want to burst any bubbles here but the Mini Express was the first Bialetti I bought and I send it back after the first use. The Mini Express did not fill each cup equally with coffee and it makes a bit of a mess when spurting out the last bit of coffee. I got the 3 cup instead and that for me is the perfect amount of coffee to make 2 cups of coffee.
  18. I will start with some pics of Olivia. On most photos I am naked with her but I do have some that I can post here....
  19. So what time down that segment will put you in what start batch for this race?
  20. Thanks for all the comments and suggestions on the drill press. It seems that the conclusion here is that what ever I buy at around R4 000 I will either strike it lucky and be happy with the purchase or it might be a total piece of crap... So, I think I should do the following: Buy the Mac Afric drill press but make sure there is no drift before buying. Also make sure that they will warranty the product if the belts slip under little pressure or any other possible faults. If possible I would like to return the item and be refunded if it starts to develop such faults and not just get a replacement unit or for them to fix it. Not sure if they would back their product this much. I will go and visit them next weekend and see if they have a lot of faith in their product.....
  21. Maybe someone on here can help me... I am looking for a drill press for my odd woodworking and metal projects. Not wanting to spend too much, R4 000 is already a bit steep but I am willing to fork that out. I have looked at a few Gumtree adds and there are 2 that caught my eye, a Record drill press with 600 W motor for R3 000 and an ET drill press for R4 000. Never heard of the brand ET and the add does not say what size the motor is but it looks like a 550 W or bigger motor. There is also a new Mac Afric 16mm Drill Press at Adendorff available for R3 500 with a 550 W motor but I’m not sure it that is the way to go. Below are the links to all the ads. Any help would be appreciated. https://www.adendorff.co.za/product/pedestal-drill-16mm-12-speed-0-55kw-220v/ https://www.gumtree.co.za/a-power-tools/durbanville/drill-press-with-cross-sliding-vice/1002219734720910432811509 https://www.gumtree.co.za/a-power-tools/other/record-heavy-duty-bench-drill-press/1002218620490910133952309
  22. Jip, that will probably be replaced in the future with a black cable but for now I'm leaving it like that. Maybe it grows on me, maybe not.
