  1. KAAAAK, the bike shop cant defend its actions by blaming J&J, I doubt anybody forced them to resell the samples !!!! Its Greed and a BS attitude of "well if those oke's are going rip me off, them I'll just do the same". Not good for business, not good for us.
  2. Which Bike Shop ? And yes it would be good to know if J&J are charging them for the samples, if thats the case there must be a contact email address for Assos - Get your own Back !!!!!
  3. Just give Polar a call on 011-8051028, they are very helpfull and will be able to talk you through the process. In the past they have helped me do the same transfer as well as other issues.
  4. It really is best to send it to Polar and let them do the tests as well, I sent mine in about 2months ago because I was getting strange readings and guessed the battery needed replacement. Was quoted (and paid) about the same (R225). When I got mine back Polar had replaced the battery, tested the watch and replaced the buttons with new ones cause it failed the pressure test and replaced the old Carbon lookalike face (discontinued) with the newer brushed chrome face all at no charge. Polar's service is really good even though it took about 10 days due to the agents couriering it to them.
  5. Do yourself a favour and check out Flashpoint FP60 wheels (Speak to Marco at Cycletech in Jhb), essentially Zipp404's without the dimples. IMO - excellent value/product for the money.
  6. That reminds me,..I better send them my application that's been lying on my desk since before the Panorama !!!! Thanks IanJ, stay in touch
  7. Not on the list of banned substances / Performance Enhacing Substances, so must be OK !
  8. Its logical - LA......Astana.......Michele Ferrari......Ferrari.....Shell ! See its easy Wonder what really in that pump !
  9. Not to bright that one,...see he's got the Diesel hose there. Everyone knows you need 95unleaded for a TT.
  10. The time has come to invest in some Winter gear for training and club rides over the winter. Any recommendations as to what would be most suitable for road training and riding over the next few months ?
  11. Why not do yourself a favour and take a ride out there the weekend after the Argus at the same time, if it wasn't a "tourist bus" chances are good it is running on a schedule so you may just be lucky and get the company and reg number if you are prepared to hang around for 20mins or so. If you do find them I hope you raise merry hell with them. Good luck
  12. Pics are up http://www.actionography.co.za/action/index.php?category=gallery/Events/Road%20Cycling/Construction%20Du%20Cap%2099er%202009&start=0
  13. Tarmac Gtr - Bravo, well said ! Word to live by (Literally), Can I just add the following bits of advice I applied to my riding after I was hit by a car two years ago (yes I was riding alone on road I shouldn't have been, at a time I shouldn't have been) 1. If at all possible Never ride alone (It's easy to find people to ride with - just ask) 2. If you ride with a club, ride for a club that offers a support/back-up vehicle, if they dont - Change clubs 3. Pick your roads and time - Dont ride at Rush hour, avoid narrow roads as much as possible 4. Whenever a motorists give you a wide berth or drives with care near you, thank them with a wave or a nod, chances are you will see each-other again sometime except next time they could be setting an example for the motorist behind them or acting as a barrier between you and the next car
  14. Nice idea, Deposit made, cant fax slip as did EFT (Ref: Matilda/Rawhide)
  15. Slave2Love - the jokers on the Car forum have havin a good ol go at you !!!! Oh wait my popcorn is allmost ready
  16. EXACTLY - And if I remember correctly Cape Town is one of the Citys that has not even bothered to respond to the Sigh-up initiative !!!!!!!
  17. The fact that some Citys have not even responded to the Sign-up iniative is a disgrace, especially when they claim to care (However thier statements only seem to appear when a Cyclist / Runner / Pedistrian) is killed by a reckless driver). Perhabs a starting point might be to make this fact know to the masses via the media
  18. Here's hoping this scumbag A-Hole gets put in a dark little holding cell with "Bubba" and his buddies, that would be poetic justice !!!
  19. Lekker indeed, can I join up? Sound like good training for the Panorama.
  20. Nothing wrong with "Cycling Trouble Spots" !!!!! Relax dude, I just think it would be usefull if all the treads about Thot Spots, dangerous roads, etc etc where all in one place (forum). I think it's great idea to have a list like this I will definatly check through it if I go ride on an unfamilier route
  21. Would it not help to have a seperate forum on the hub for this,...possibly called "Cycling Safty", could also serve to highlight high accident areas as well
