  1. possible, but not in 4 hours full loop through SBR takes about 2:00 - 2:20 for stronger riders...
  2. good on you for acting on it happy it ended well
  3. Dont think so! His part of the deal was that he payed for the kit. Something is going to be done about the incident. C S A are going to look into the matter and appropriate action is going to be taken from their side once all the facts have been gathered. so CSA is going to crap on him for crapping? oi, can't wait to see the outcome of this - i honestly believe the sh@t has hit the fan now
  4. Seeding is a funny thing (sorry, I just caught the tail end of this thread so I might be posting out of context) Seeding it seems everyone has a problem with. I did last year when I wanted to ride in an earlier group in the FastOne. Even to the point that I used a rather stupid chirp trying to assert my cycling ability! But, at the end of the day, I had to ride in the cat designated to me because I had not done an event in a few years, so they had no seeding for me. My time at that FastOne was good for the group I had started in, and again at 94.7. The seeding does actually work, because when I came to ride FastOne this year (with only the previous FastOne and 94.7 as recorded times) I was placed in VA. I was happy with this as this is the category I had been licenced to race in for 2009. Seems the seeding was spot on, coz I did not struggle to stay with the bunch and finished in the pack. As for the length of different events and training...obviously nobody will train 100km of hills if they are wanting to do a 1500m track event. And vice versa. But, be warned roadies...coz I'm an overweight trackie finishing 100km events with you no problem!! (please read that as friendly humour) Thing is, like it has been said nobody needs to prove themselves to anyone other than themselves...and this is where the seeding comes in to play. If you are meant to be in A, you'll be in A. Dont panic. If your meant to be in Z, you will be...just work at improving. I know this is a bit longwinded, but years ago before the seeding came out cycling was a bit 'hit and miss' I was on a team that entered for the Giro Del Capo, and we were declined for entry, but were allowed to ride the Argus as a consolation prize. I was happy with this, but was then informed that because I had never done an Argus before I would have to start at the back. This was unfair, because we had no seeding to validate my protests, which were that just 5months earlier had been sent to race in the World Road Championships. The seeding was based on the then WPPA seeding and they would hear nothing of my wanting to race in A. Had we had the benefit of a proper seeding then, I would have raced in the category I was supposed to. I'm a believer in the seeding of events, and like I said I'm possibly posting out of context here. Just enjoy the fact your able to compete... tsk tsk tsk all this and wisdom............
  5. maybe he felt crap about being associated with such sh@t
  6. the one in Bicycling is very suspect on the sub 3hr. rather use the one on the CT website........seems much more accurate
  7. Naah not good at all. It is worse than your roadie seeding no surprises there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hmmm only just hey! No racesWeighted IndexPositionGender PosCategoryCat Pos425.5974275/1561723970/127509Vets 40-44672/24911 Shucks my seeding has improved quite a bit lately. When did they update the index? must be the lowest its been - ever.... 25.5. Some races needed to get that to below 20 asap. Any suggestions of easy races coming up in the near future?

  12. Yes Trubie, the guy you are referring to is the man in question. He often rides down south with the Lido guys. You'll have seen him many times in the groups. so is he a poofter then?
  13. sub 3 big diffs, the Cycle Tour one says top of Smuts (51.9 k's) in 1:23:58 @ ave of 37.08 vs the 1:11 in Bicycling @ same point, then they have the next one @ Soetwater, 65 km's or 1:43 (CT) vs Bicycling Soetwater 58 km or 1:41 - clearly there is a huge mistake somewhere.....
  14. I find the female version of this species to be quite good looking where we ride, so I dont mind them, actually look forward to meeting them every morning
  15. you can stil ride mon - fri just take it easy on 3 of the 5 days and then add one hard day to make it 3/5 should be fine
  16. you can try Biogen L-Glutamine Powder , it works for me after a really hard session, take a spoon dissolved in a glass of water, next day your legs will thank you but as Schwynn says, maybe too much too soon you need to follow hard days with easy one's.....
  17. Does this oke also ride a yellow Trek TT bike?
  18. maybe cause the gel wrapper isnt bio degradable
  19. I'm already going to be crucified, cause you know what happens in A stays in A. Committed a cardinal sin already, so my lips are zipped
  20. where have you been the last 16 years? Its apartheid isnt it? cant be PS anything that's like saying Shimano is crap
  21. sorry to dissapoint, it wont get better than the Klerksdorp crap - nothing would actually. lets just say the poor lady must have felt major uncomfortable with someone taking a leak right next to her. She was no more than 3 rows back in the pen.. and she was trying to eat something while this was taking place. At least the guy in the earlier pic seems to have wondered off somewhere private... as you say a sponsor's dream........ what next i wonder?
  22. best we keep quiet then about what happened in the full A starting pen just before we set off, nogal right next to one of our lady riders......
  23. sure his sponsors would be elated at least he supports their products hey?
