  1. Just a weather report: its pissing with rain!! going to be a fun Sani this year, Bring the waterproof's
  2. SRP in Europe is 16 Euro excluding tax = R224 ex V.A.T. I ensure the shops retail the "Burly" [Long lasting] pads for R250 including so we are in-line with the Euro retail point. Quality is far superior than many of the competition and performance is certainly there too. At the event riders will be entitled to two sets [a complete bike worth] for R250.00, unfortunately we will not have credit card facilities to get your geld ready. Cheers, -- Andre
  3. Those of you Hubbers who are competing in the Sani2C next week need not worry about disk brake pads, Brake Authority have you covered. http://www.rushsports.co.za/blog/sani2c/
  4. Done quite a few custom setups sofar: Pink/ Pink Stans 355 Blue/ Blue Stans 355 Gold/ Gold DT 4.2 Gold hub/ Gold Spoke fade to green Stans Flow [for William Keith] Also done some interesting lacing patterns, lacing "colour wedges" into the wheel. There has been a lot of back and fourth debating between critics as to weather I9 tops Chris King, many have put them on par with eachother. CK make amazing hubs, their bearings likely have a longer lifespan than those used in I9, however I9 uses low friction ABEC 5 grade bearings with low contact seals making them a little more prone to contamination but allowing for super low rolling resistence. Bearings are easy to replace and relatively low price so it seems reasonable. I think the main advantage I9 has over the competition is the 32H lace, this bulds a far stronger wheel than the 26/ 24/ 28H as is common on most lightweight wheelsets, also the one-piece aluminium spoke is far lighter than a steel spoke, lighter infact than most tripple butted spokes so the rotational weight is far less than virtually all of the similarly weighted wheels out there. Couple this with the ability to build on a rim of your choice and the 3 degree take-up on the freehub and you have quite a few perks. They're pimping
  5. How are Morewood and Raleigh anything alike? Do Raleigh hand make their bikes in South Africa? Do Raleigh support local industry by using local resources and skills? Do Raleigh sponsor any international race teams? Have Raleigh won any championships outside of South Africa? Do Raleigh compete within the high-end market anywhere else in the world?
  6. This just posted on www.rushsports.co.za. PROUD! "A stone-throw away from our warehouse is a little 600m ^2 factory. There isn?t any sign outside the factory but inside there are a few shiny bits and pieces. This particular shiny piece will soon be sent to an Australian who goes by the name of Nathan Rennie. For those of you who are not familiar with the name, Nathan happens to be one of the fastest riders in the World; former Junior Downhill World Champion and regular visitor to the World Cup podium. The factory belongs to Morewood, the ONLY truly South African bicycle manufacturer [despite what others may tell you]. Morewood have now been making some of the best mountainbike frames available for the last 8 years, cutting their teeth in the international market alongside some of the greatest bicycle brands in the world. Two time US National Champions, multiple South African National Champions and a proudly South African company, Morewood, the joint title sponsor of the Kenda/ Morewood team will now be fighting it out with the best riders in the world represented by two Australians, Nathan Rennie and Mitch Delfs. 2009 will certainly be a good year of dirt in South Africa: Andrew Neethling, Burry Stander, Greg Minnaar and Sifiso Nhlapo all likely medal winners in their respective categories, Pietermaritzburg hosting the opening round of the mountainbike World Cup, AND now in a strange way two Australians will subtly be flying a South African flag [albeit here between their legs]" http://www.rushsports.co.za/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/handmade-in-south-africa-225x300.jpg
