  1. oh don't get me wrong noteing wrong with bikes made in the east, the last bike i had that was made in the USA was horrible......really horrible...canno.....never mind I just like the novelty of having a bike made locally, hopefully Patrick had a heavy hand in the design of the frame, plus hopefully it will be good price as well to get the brand out to more riders......really want to see this brand go BIG....even more than it is at the moment. The entire tubeset is a proprietory Morewood tubeset, and all of the design and prototyping has been done right on our shores by Roan Exelby and Dave Lieman through the year. The tubeset used for the Kwela is based on the same design as the Zula uses only to meat a more competitive price bracket and facilitate the ability to produce larger numbers these guys needed to be made abroad. The Zula will still be made proudly in SA though along with the rest of our line-up.
  2. Wheelz, fortunately its a trade show so there is no $$ changing hands. I've got a stream going on our blog at the moment, just the Morewood booth for now but more to come: www.rushsports.co.za/blog
  3. It is unfortunately my only 'wood at the moment... working on a little something though, looking at building one of these in a few months:
  4. Hey Flyaway, I'm sure it doesn't compare on "downhill" riding, but its certainly capable up and down, no? We've used these at 25km, 3000m vertical MegaAvalanche races lol Regarding the pic, according to a group of "avid" mountainbikers I rode past a week or so ago its a downhill bike. I got the "sjoe you climb well on that downhill bike hey?" Got to love it!
  5. Here's mine:
  6. Hey Blockhouse, you tried the Fox website? Not sure how brave you are but it sounds like you have a bit of creeping going on there with your TALAS. Follow the Fox link below: http://service.foxracingshox.com/consumers/index.htm Click "SERVICE" on the LHS colum, then click "FORKS" then click "32 TALAS II/ III" then scroll down to the section outlining the TALAS outer tube disassembly. Alternatively give Omnico a call, chat to Russell +27 21 691 0110
  7. there was a company in the UK who used to make neat little rubber boots to cover the front derailleur. for the life of me I can not remember the MFG, but it was in the days when Crud were starting out and mudguards were all the craze... will try and pull up the info from the archives, may be of some help
  8. Just got my Bicycling mag... I really like Pg88...
  9. however Johan damping is dynamic whereas a spring is static. the above assumes that the entire system is a static one.
  10. ^^ ROFL!
  11. Question is when they are going to make those glases so I can see through things...?
  12. Splat, working on a press release at the moment which will include all of the info you are looking for, including final colour and graphic designs. Keep 'em peeled, its coming
  13. You know who this is? Check the latest Bicycling mag when its on the shelves
  14. Nine one GL! Yep, jozi is a point of discussion for us at the moment, we are struggling to get stores to commit or even show interest. I have had talks with a number of dealers and will follow up on these in the next month or so, but will keep you all in the loop. As far as the ETA first wave begins in October [although William has pretty much pre-sold all of these, call for info +27 21 851-0919] following on from November frames should be readily available throughout SA. We have a mailing list who is/ will be fed info as and when Morewood release it, if you wish to receive this please PM me with your details? Oh, and here is a little snipped of its European debut in Austria three weeks ago:
  15. Its pretty simple, just follow the link: http://www.sram.com/_media/techdocs/AM%20Disc%20Brake%20Pad%20Install%20BB7%20Juicy.pdf
  16. depends on the brand. details?
  17. Pappa Bear, just don't remove the spring collar itself. It should be a small dist that is sitting up against the collar, held in place by the bottom-out elastomer.
  18. lol, sorry, missed the above. In that case Johan I think its a case of beer plus the above?
  19. Again, its not an internal change, its simply a travel chip which is slotted over the shock shaft in order to reduce its stroke. You should simply need to loosen the spring preload collar, push back the bottom-out elastomer and remove the chip.
  20. Pappa Bear... just did an e-check for you, its not an internal travel chip. Its a travel chip under the bottom-out bumper. You can remove this yourself quite simply: "NOTE: Stock setting for the shock stroke is 2.375?, resulting in 7.3? of travel. Travel can be increased to 7.7? by removing the small travel limiting chip located under the bottom-out bumper on the shock shaft. When increasing travel, it?s recommended to reduce spring preload, or drop to the next lower spring rate to keep the recommended sag percentage."
  21. don't think you'll find a Demo... Gravity bikes don't sell in SA
  22. From what I understand the Enduro kits come with the drifts needed to install the bearings. Will have to confirm once the stuff eventually arrives... Johan, again, sorry we could not help you right away with your fork seals! SOON!
  23. Pappa Bear: 1.) Where did you hear of this internal "spacer" 2.) What is the year model and spec on your shock? [stroke and eye to eye] 3.) What bike is it on? 4.) Why would you want to do this?
  24. ^^ Confirm, there is however a mechanism built into the RP23 which compensates for this to a certain extent by having a "negative" air pressure preventing a drastic "ramp up" in the shock towards the end portion if its stroke. Cutting to the chase, a DHX is not going to solve your problem, the DHX uses a pro-pedal adjuster yes, but it will not be firm enough to give you te efficient and firm "On" you are looking for when on the climbs. I do not believe that the firm compression tune will make too much of a difference either, but it certainly will help, give Omnico WC a call and chat to Russell, he is the Fox product manager and is very clued up with teir suspension and will certainly be able to rebuild the shock with the firm tune. As for the "PUSH" rebuild... do a little more research on tese guys before sending anything off to them, all I can say is all is not as it appears.
