Guys, I can't thank and commend you enough for the support this competition has gained! As a spoiled brat when it comes to trails (living in KZN) it is fantastic to see how people from across SA have come together to get behind this competition. I understand that the prize is attractive, but the movement here goes beyond that and speaks to the community that we have formed as cyclists. I would be interested in hearing your thoughts and feedback as to how we can do more activities like this to generate funds for local trails, as well as what trail centers you believe are most deserving and / or in need of fund raising in this manner? Feel free to post on here or DM me?

The prizes aren't sold to Tokai, they are donated, so all proceeds will benefit the trails

The goal is obviously to collect more $$ in entries / donations than the cost of the bike, otherwise we may as well just give the $$ directly to Tokai, but I think its an awesome initiative, and Flipper has been a HUGE contributor here too.

Hey guys, we will work with the winner on their choice of frame and spec. We have budgeted for a CC frame with a SRAM build kit and Performance Elite suspension. This would cover any of the MTB frames with the appropriate kit. In terms of Stigmata, this would definitely be an option though I would need to look at availability of parts kits to confirm.

So stoked to be part of this initiative and get some trails going in Tokai!

Hoping to have pricing and web updated by tomorrow We are working really hard to keep prices in line / competitive with the US$ MSRP. This puts a bit of pressure on the dealers as it has reduced their margin a bit (obviously ours too). For rough calculation: US$ price x ROE + 14% V.A.T (shipping / handling usually adds 5% or so...)

How is this meaningless here in SA?

The issue you have there is that you aren't using a LUST tyre... that almost looks like a non TR which is even more alarming. Can you pop me a DM with pics so I can help you out with some advice?

Because we have the travel schedule of Mr Minnaar and Flipper to manage. Gary is literally on a plane back from Chile, and Minnaar flies to Spain on Saturday. Night harvest... pffft. Come early, grab a beer and get to night harvest happy and with a full stomach

One thing to point out too is to remember warranty only covers the first owner. Though this may be a contentious issue, this is part of the value add in purchasing new VS used. BUUUUUUUT, we still want to know who all of our "Santa Cruz" owners are, hence the owners club

Hi Phenning The official answer is that owners are supposed to register their bikes within 90 days of purchase... the Blur has not been manufactured for some time, and thus does not appear on the list. Additionally, its also part of the "Frames purchased prior to May 1, 2015 will be covered under the previously existing 5 year warranty. Warranties do not cover custom finishes." That being said, from our side, registration has never really been promoted in the SA market so its a new thing for a lot of Santa Cruz and Juliana owners. We are wanting to collect ALL Santa Cruz and Juliana owner info so that we can streamline and review service, make the correct spares available, and have a database of owners who we can include (if they opt in) in event invites such as demo days, owner rides etc. I've sent an email to the digital department at Santa Cruz regarding your particular situation. I can't promise a swift answer, but I will update when I can as I am sure you will not be the first with this question. In the mean-time, if you want to be added to our Santa Cruz database, I can add your details manually. Just pop me a DM and I will advise.
