  1. ^^ from the pricelist: "Specialized Epic 2003- 2006, 8 Enduro Max Bearings & 1 Tool, R395.00" When we begin getting this stuff on te webshop [www.rushsports.co.za] I will try to put as much information as possible, and include pics where possible.
  2. yep, hope we can have some more reasonable prices with the favourable ZAR Only time will tell. Can't wait to get this stuff!!
  3. many of the bearings used in suspensions systems on linkage bikes can't be found at bearing man, and if you can find them the life will be considerably shorter. Due to te small size and the applicaton finding the correct bearing can be tough. Remember bearings are made to rotate, not oscilate at they do on suspension systems. Enduro supply virtually EVERY MFG with the bearings used in their rear suspension systems, when you next take your's apart take a look at the brand on the seal, if its a Giant, Speci, Intense chances are its got Enduro bearings, and is using their "Max" type bearing which does away with the cage in order to fit a greater amount of balls and increase the load-carrying capacity. Will certainly let you guys know when we are rolling
  4. well considdering the only saffa's qualifying at Worlds are Needles and Minnaar it makes you realise just how difficult it is to get that 80th spot. First WC in 10 years, on the bike for 4 weeks... I'd call that pretty impressive with the level of racing at the moment. Can he get a top 10? Doubtful!
  5. FYI: Specialized Epic bearing kit will be approx R395.00 SRP [including V.A.T and shipping]
  6. Dunman- those are the bad guys we will be bringing in from September
  7. He's a legend for sure! 76th at his first World Cup in 10 years... RESPECT! As for Aaron Gwin... he is without a doubt the next biggest thing in the sport of Downhill!
  8. Wish I had a solution for you at the moment, BUT we have taken on the Enduro agency for SA and will be supplying both hub and suspension bearing kits along with their line up of additional products. ETA is still about 8 weeks though Keep your eyes peeled www.rushsports.co.za Its coming!
  9. if you had bought the premier hoses you would have an easier job lol, just teasing. my offer still stands, if you need help just drop me a PM
  10. yeah no worries, we used to be the disti's for Goodridge so I've fitted one or two
  11. splat the Arch rims are super for heavier/ more agressive riders. the reason for my above post is that I am riding the Flow rims over the 355 [couldn't get the arch] and although I'm not too heavy its been the best choice I have made, I have not flinched once riding my wheels over some pretty gnarly trails. I'm all for light wheels, but there is NOTHING that can replace a good 32H hand build rim/ hub option!
  12. give me a call and I'll talk you through the fitting process: 078 191 0903
  13. Machiemoo: At 105kg and in that price-point you would be far better off having a wheelset built for you by a good local wheel-builder. You would be spending the same cash and get a wheelset that would be far more versatile and durable. fork maintenence courses.... ARGH! sorry! I have been in Austria for a bit and running around like crazy! I will work on dates this week if you are still keen? It won't be long before I am off again.
  14. ^^^ very interesting Icycling!
  15. Those c/rings are only for the Controltech Dual Play cranksets as far as I know. Its only 5-bolt cranks that come in a 94mm BCD apart from the CT's.
  16. I'm working on a tech Wiki at the moment... its going t be off the charts as a reference point for everything from suspension setup to tire pressure and derailleur setting! DECEMBER....
  17. thats what they use in a wankel/ rotary engine right?
  18. Giant is actually bigger and uses a shim to go down to 27.2mm. This is an archaic standard, thinner is lighter and thinner + stronger + lighter can all be achieved using a larger diameter. Ever seen a 27.2mm carbon post longer than 350mm? Nope? Thats because its risky enough at 300mm let alone 350mm. I have no problem running an EC90 400mm post with plenty of extension on my AM bike though and its thanks to te larger diameter of te 30.9mm. morewoodkid2009-06-04 03:21:10
  19. 30.9 IMO. 27.2mm is/ was the most common size but it is difficult to build a strong and light seatpost around this diameter. Additionally many bike flex along the seat-tube on the frame and as a resut of this is it beneficial to have a larger diameter seat-tube. So why not bigger than 30.9? I just think it looks silly
  20. Yes, 15mm on forks is now old news: fox, marz are both using the standard. 15mm on the rear however is something altogether different and new.
  21. Now this is cutting edge, 11 speed rear derailleir with mechanically re-calibrating cable tension, eectronic integration calabilities AND a radically different design: http://www.rushsports.co.za/blog/2009/06/fsa-back-in-the-game/ http://www.rushsports.co.za/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/fsa-derailleur-fig-1.jpg morewoodkid2009-06-04 05:43:51
  22. 1x9 i hear you, I'm all for pushing the envelope and advancing tech but there is so much cross-over BS: Disk Brakes: PM , IS [international Standard], Fox40, Boxxer [pre 2010], Marzocchi 888 thats five "standards" for mounting a simple disk brake. I'm not even getting into rotors... BB's: Itallian, British, BB30, GXP Pressfit [bB83] thats five "standards" of bottom bracket shells let alone BB interfaces, crank splines, BB widths etc As for wheels: 9mm QR, 10mm Thru Bolt, 15mm Bolt Thru, 20mm Bolt Thru, 24mm Maverick... How many more do we need? I can understand 10mm Thru Bolt, this makes perfect sense to me. I can understand 20mm Bolt Thru, this has been the standard for many years but 15mm? Why? Its no lighter than 20mm and being only 100mm wide its certainly no stronger and does not make for a stiffer wheel. so WTF? And now we want to go down this road for rear wheels? Freehub bearings in 12mm Bolt Thru wheels are already pushing the limits! Why do companies all want to establish their own "standards"? Simple, because they are too dam cheap to purchase existing patents and mfg rights. They feel this money is better spent on marketing the BS hype behing their own "standards" in the hopes that their marketing investment will pay off in dividends when others buy into it. Utter nonsense! Phew... that was a rant. Think I need coffee...
  23. As if the cycling industry needed another "standard". I mean I certainly see the purpose, but is 12mm the standard which has been around for many years not sufficient? Was 20mm not sufficient for front forks? And are regular ball bearings really necessasry to be replaced on Shimano wheels? Is this not the sole reason anyone buys Shimano wheels? Read this and weap!
  24. This year we had a pretty exclusive "Morewood" trail ride with Nathan Rennie, Mitch Delfs and a few lucky Morewood owners out in Howick. Next year I think I will arrange to do a few more of these, those of you who are coming down to PMB for the World Cup HAVE to experience the local riding. And I don't just mean Giba Gorge. There is SUCH great riding out here! Every weekend I learn more and love it more!
