  3. Only Clean Green for my dirty MTB, parrafin KILLS my lawn!!!!
  4. Hopefully RAI schedules is not updated or....otherwise no live GIRO for us!!!
  5. Bue this. https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=49821
  6. I agree with The Thug. Well done RALEIGH for leading the way...everyone is in business for the bucks, no one does it for charity...they have seen that times are tough on their side, as well as on the side of the cyclists and consumers......I am sure that they cut their margins, but has for sure given through the positive strengthning of the Rand throug to us....others will have to follow now!!
  7. I only replaced the cable and not the housing. So maybe it's it.... Bit scared to open it up myself...I can only image all those small parts and springs flying in all directions.... I get the idea that it is a spring....when I replaced the cable, the shifter was loose and worked easily, but with the cable in and all tightened up it started to give problems. Thanks for all the advice. Cheers, Gerhard
  8. Over the past two weeks I have picked that my XT rear derailleur shifter does not want to kick back into position after I shift it with my right hand thumb. (See circle)I need to pull it back to its original postion to shift again. I replaced the cable a week ago and it still persists. Can the inside be dirty or is a spring faulty??? I wash my MTB regularly and do not see that dirt can be the root cause.....any ideas or should I just take it in to my LBS for a decent service. I do not want to open it myself...
  9. I am just a CycloSport licensed and recreational mountainbiker from Heidelberg, Gauteng and am truly amazed to read all the postings about this....obviously I know nothing about the inside politics or the past....I just want to say it really sad to read all this! If my license money helps to pay to get a pro cyclist to an overseas event, then let it be....it's more than I get from paying for my motor vehicle license, thanks to all the potholes, etc...... Bye, and I will buy some fresh popcorn, but it stays sad...
  10. Hey, I see I am a DOMESTIQUE now!!! Heehaa!!!!
  11. Hi Gypsy, good on you to apologise. It does take courage and one needs to swallow your dented pride. I made the same mistake a week or two ago regarding uncalled and incorrect comments about Tim Brink (on the HUB), for which I felt I had to and did also publicly apologise. As rookies, we are learning the hard way on what goes and what doesn't on the HUB. Bye Gerhard
  12. MTB for sure!!! But, then on the other hand, I've never done road cycling and the roads nowadays are way to dangerous to ride on....even in a car!!! For me, it also seems that roadies are snobbish and does not welcome new riders...maybe because I've never ridden in a bunch....MTB requires no bunch riding, just you, your bike and the singletrack in the veld....
  13. well done Burry! Jose Hermida, quite a surprise....but he showed form last week!!
  14. Rock, thanks for the updates! it's much appreciated. Keep us posted. Cheers
  15. Nope no relation to Riaan Cruywagen...he is from the Tranvaal clan, I am from the Western Cape clan..
  16. Under the topic "Bicycling", I made an irresponsible comment this morning about Tim Brink. I am quite new to the whole Hubbing thing and got carried away. However, no excuse for my behaviour. I have PM'ed Tim and he has explained his position at Bicycling and about the publishing industry. I publicly apologise to Tim for my stupid and irresponsible behaviour towards a fellow Hubber. May this act as a yardstick for all of us who make uninformed comments on the Hub about others. Sorry, Gerhardc aka Gerhard Cruywagen
  17. You're defence of your fellow journo's on the Hub...yip I am learning quick
  18. Well Holy Roller, I see you're also a journo....so I now fully understand....
  19. Hi Foe, please see comments from Roller..stop speculating on the Hub and contact Touchline direct...klyall@touchline.co.za - PR Manager at Touchline
  20. Well, I was not aware that one may not speculate on the HUB, as I saw weeks ago many Hubbers speculating on Cyclelab, FPC, Anti-competative behaviour, etc.... But,I leave it for now and will nly read all your comments....
  21. Well, excuse me Roller...as you see I am only a Rookie and do not have 20200 posts, thus I can speculate as much as I can as I do not know all the members...
  22. What is even more disturbing is that they are part of the international edition of BICYCLING, thus most of their content is from overseas journalists...copy and paste and add some SA content....I HOPE THEY (Bicycling Editor and his team) READ ALL THIS COMMENTS....I also see that Tim Brink is not the editor anymore....I wonder?????....???? was he maybe demoted because of how the mag has fallen from grace!!!
  23. Yip, I must also confess....I pick up the Bicycling Mag in the Supermarket, showed it to my wife and said "look how crappy this mag has become!!!"........and tossed it back on the rack. That they have no shame in publishing such a crappy mag is above me....look at their mags 2 years ago, much better content and WAY more volume!!!!!
  24. 30 minutes on the same day is better than "buggerall"!
