    Flat pedals

I have been a flat convert for a while now and have not even thought of going back to cleats. I ride with skate shoes but desperately would like some 5.10s but seeing as thought i bought a Giant Trance Advanced recently and some new shoes for her, i cant buy squat for a long time now, not complaining though -
  4. Had a few rides now on the Magic Mary and Rock Razor combo and i must say, they awsome. The RR is described as a semi slick but when you corner those big side knobs really dig in. Its the only tires i have had so far that i can even hear them really digging into the ground, sounds weird but you can hear and feel them digging in for grip, its awsome.
  5. I didn't ride up that brick road. I came out of that single track section and to the left is the start of section that is part of the downhill course with thise jumps. Past the start of that is the brick road but i came out the single track section, wnet straight (crossing over that big climb that is now not part of the new green route) up that uphill then you turn slightly left and there is a bump/jump there (not that you can jump it because you going up. At that point you can go left, down past the brick road but i turned right which takes you on some trail and eventually you come out onto the brick road but way up sort of middle. You can go right up the top half of yhe brick road but i saw a sign straight ahead that said blue/green so crossed over the brick road onto that section and some where further on that section i saw a sign that said Henry :-). Shot, Yafta ia getting a little easier but still not easy..lol
  6. Afrer you come out by that big climb and go over to that uphill section then there is a sign to the left to come back down or right which said blue/green route that leads yout to the middle of that brick road and then you go straight over it and do a nice section and then i saw a sign that said henry, im sure it said henry and you then come back onto the green route that leads you to that big jump we were talking about.
  7. Beautiful day at Thaba. Did Samuel and Yafta today and managed to do Yafta in one go but coasting in between. Also managed to get onto Henry today, it was lekker but hard work. Nice downhill section then a sharp up, then repeat this for a while and then get to a section where there is just boulders. stared at it for a while until I walked over them to get onto a ride able path again...good fun. I managed to get in some exercise in the week but note to self, no leg exercises on a Friday...eina...hahaha
  8. They come in a variety of lengths to also fit standard tapered forks, 40-70mm
  9. Alot of mine come out upside down when uploading with the phone and think it's got to with which side i turn the phone horizontally. So if i turn it horizontally to the left, they come out wither upside down or right way up, cant recall which is the right way.
  10. Surely there are more hubbers that would like this?
  11. So far 2/10 interested ..just few more Hubbers to help would be great. Remember these stems can be used for both OD2 and standard as well as 35mm bars and 31.8mm bars
  12. Sweet. That's you and me. Eight more to go. Come on hub land....gooi
  13. Correct. I on the other hand can't as the steer and bearing is OD2. The only option is to replace the Fox 34 kasima coat Talas fork for a standard one or try get these stems into production which is cheaper for sure.
  14. That is because the fork you used was a standard taper and standard taper headset bearings. The head tube itself is standard taper but the fork steerer is OD2 and the upper headset bearing is different to accommodate the OD2 steerer fork
  15. Ok People, since there was hardly any interest in the OD2 stems and getting 100 people was not going to happen, there is another really cool option: An OD2 stem with a shim for standard steerer and a shim to run 35mm bars as an added option. Extremely customizable option that any steerer can use as well as any handlebar. Slightly more expensive option but with all the adapters and stem included you get a lot for R1399 as well as exceptional service from Rapide :-). In order to get this into production we are need only 10 interested buyers that anyone can buy due to the shims available. The other lekker thing is that it comes in more lengths, 40-70 mm options - Awesome. We can also look at swopping out stems with hubbers if you find the one purchased is too short or too long. Here are all the specs and some pics: The stem is the Fouriers SM-MB002 it comes with shims so that it can fit normal and OD2 steerers and standard 31.8mm clamp size bars and also 35mm clamp size bars: "Lightweight full CNC manufactured stem. Cut from one aluminum 6061 block for maximum strength, stiffness, and anti-corrosion. Unique flat design and great aesthetics. Ø35mm Handlebar Clamp System with 0 degree rise. 1 1/4” steerer tube clamp, with 1 1/8” shim. For All Mountain Use." Product Features:.With SHIM (AC-A001) - fork tube Ø31.8 change to Ø28.6.With SHIM (AC-A002) - handlebar clamp Ø35 change to Ø31.8.With Top Cap.AL6066-T6 full CNC made.Bar-bore: Ø35.Fork tube: Ø31.8.Fork stack height: 40mm.Length: 40-70mm.Angle: 0°.Weight: 40mm/140g 50mm/155g 60mm/165g 70mm/175g.Color: Anodized black
  16. Wouldn't even think remotely about doing Thaba on an SS...my 11sp is just enough to see me though the green route with Yafta and Samuel...with lots of breaks in between.
  17. Bought with you kids education money....
  18. There is a shim that was designed also to make the OD2 stem compatible with standard tapered forks. This means that all benefit, the OD2 bikes and the non od2 bikes☺ It's a win win people ☺
  19. Is there shims available? Suppose you could make your own but it's expensive to import if you could find one.
  20. Ja, thus is what I am thinking but worth a shot. Rather pricey to upgrade the fork????
  21. The overdrive 2 system is where the fork steerer tube is not the standard 1 1/8 but 1 1/4 meaning that standard stems are too small in diameter to fit onto the steerer and hence giant made specific stems but the shortest you can get is 60mm in that oversized stem. The frame itself is the standard taper but giant have an upper headset bearing to fit their larger diameter steerer. So, to overcome this you can do two things 1) Try get someone to make shorter stems to fit the overdrive steerer tube or.. 2) Buy a new fork with standard taper, upper headset bearing and then Amy stem you want. Option is is by far cheaper BUT highly unlikely at this stage depending if more people want it. Hope I explained that we'll enough.
  22. Would that compromise the integrity of the stem? Not sure it's safe option.
  23. Correct. Should have said OD2
  24. Excellent. Only 98 more riders to go...
