  1. Bought with you kids education money....
  2. There is a shim that was designed also to make the OD2 stem compatible with standard tapered forks. This means that all benefit, the OD2 bikes and the non od2 bikes☺ It's a win win people ☺
  3. Is there shims available? Suppose you could make your own but it's expensive to import if you could find one.
  4. Ja, thus is what I am thinking but worth a shot. Rather pricey to upgrade the fork????
  5. The overdrive 2 system is where the fork steerer tube is not the standard 1 1/8 but 1 1/4 meaning that standard stems are too small in diameter to fit onto the steerer and hence giant made specific stems but the shortest you can get is 60mm in that oversized stem. The frame itself is the standard taper but giant have an upper headset bearing to fit their larger diameter steerer. So, to overcome this you can do two things 1) Try get someone to make shorter stems to fit the overdrive steerer tube or.. 2) Buy a new fork with standard taper, upper headset bearing and then Amy stem you want. Option is is by far cheaper BUT highly unlikely at this stage depending if more people want it. Hope I explained that we'll enough.
  6. Would that compromise the integrity of the stem? Not sure it's safe option.
  7. Correct. Should have said OD2
  8. Excellent. Only 98 more riders to go...
  9. Sweet. Give me some time to build up some fitness, just got back on the beast after 2 weeks being sick. You know how slow I am...lol
  10. Hubbers, Had a chat to Rapide about what it will take to produce some overdrive 2 stems in the 45mm and/or 60mm versions as currently you can't get less than 60mm stem for the Giant Overdrive 2 system. I know they dropped the overdrive from 2015 but I am sure there are riders that would like such stems that have the overdrive 2 systems. So, what will it take for them to produce these stems? Approx. 100-200 pre-orders at a price of around R700 is what it will take to make it worthwhile. This would also include any international buyers that will be interested. It would be easier if they produce one length, say the 45mm. Who would be interested in these stems? I certainly would be. If hubbers are part of any international forums then perhaps they could share this and get some more demand. Here is the design they have:
  11. Barrys point and Genet part of the Blue route? Where is it and how tough is it?

  16. What will happen after i take the jump is high fives, smiles, gloating, admiration....etc...will then teach you how to do it....lol
  17. Ah yes, i know that section well...always stop to look at it and think to myself i should try it one day..dont think that day will ever come.
  18. Honestly, that's really nothing major at all. A few cosmetic things but still exactly the same. Will never buy this thing again as the one side broke after a soft fall and the other just went missing.
  19. Had these yesterday. The weis was very fruity, didnt like it too much but the Butcher Block was really lekker. Had a sweetness to it but good bitterness.
  20. Haven't managed to read through all the pages but want some advice on what I am thinking of. We pay for DSTV premium, R800 a month. We watch the following: * Probably about 2 hours a day during the week. Generally Mnet 101..americas got talent...those sort of talent shows . We watch no series at all. Just don't get into them. Some discovery. We got to bed fairly early, around 09:30 (new born in the house). After kids are bathed and sleeping and dinner is done we sit down about 20:00-21:00 watching Tely but really chat in-between, get up to see to the kids if they crying...etc. Our 2 year old likes Cbeebies but watches for a bit and then off to play with her toys. * Weekends - Saturday sport if there is something I fancy like the championship rugby now but that really it. Don't watch soccer and watch some UCI stuff when its on. Sundays we watch cart blanche and the Sunday movie. A few things here and there on the weekends. I am now tossing with the idea of getting Rid of TV altogether and saving the R800 but not sure if I would manage to do that. We tried once for a week but failed and put the TV on but it was really more for the background noise that was missing although we had the radio/music on but felt a bit odd. Who has got rid of TV altogether and what is your experience? just don't know what to do on this one as its a waste of money for what we watch but also a little vice as a go to "cheap" form of entertainment.
