This is the exact reason why I convinced my better halve to do the Argus just this once- to experience THIS. MASSIVE thanks and kudo's to those who do this for us bike-trappers - it makes this event AWESOME!!!!!

We're staying in Blouberg for Argus (CTCT). How safe is the cycle path from there to just before the harbour? And could we cycle to the start, or should we rather not? Thanks

We had a lot of rain on Wednesday night, (and we are so grateful as the drought is real bad- our dam was only 8,5% full last week) but none since yesterday morning. It apparently rained a lot more in town than up in mountains and forestry. It's been fairly overcast but drying out. There will be some muddy patches, mostly in forestry areas, but seriously doubt it will be mudfest- provided there isn't anymore rain... Coming back through 14 Streams is going to great fun!!!

I really don't mind at all starting wherever... It costs a phone booth full of money for me to do this every second year, so I am definitely going to take as long as possible to enjoy the Tour...

Eish... know that feeling sooooo well..... did 947 last year on ss. Cramped so much after - I think Malibongwe- that looooong right-hand uphill about 20 from end- I had to walk... Whole card of Rennies sorted me... caught my mate on that last uphill....

I agree. I'm not that experienced, (done 3 of each), and I ride for the experience, definitely not for time, but I was nearly fleeced last year by mates when I said that 947 is tougher than Argus...

You making me think... must seriously go check my Giant's frame...
