1. I'm quite curious to hear what fellow Jeffsy riders are using as lower downtube/ bottom bracket protection. I was quite surprised to find that the bike didn't come with a hard plastic sump guard like in the attached photo.

I'd also dig to hear how a set of wider rims has improved the ride. I'm loving this whip right now but rims and Onza tyres are probably gonna go soon.

    Cheers

You're a true gent for offering Meezo, but not to worry. I've got 2 fresh Ibex on my Jeffsy, I was just curios as to where to find them should I need new rubber. Cheers man

  3. Hi Guys,

Just curious if that was the only Bronson stolen? There's a very suspicious ad on Gumtree at the moment advertising a medium Bronson frame with a CC DB shock for R11500. I can't see any decals so they might have had it resprayed. Here's the link:

The same guy was advertising a 2016 Bronson frame but calling it a 2015. Here's that link:

  4. "The frame is only 15k coz it has "Commencal" on it. They don't have a superior suspension design that many buyers are willing to pay a premium for."

Hahaha still haven't gotten over that? Good for you man.

I made that comment, just in case you guys were wondering. It's a cult brand so my "gem" was likely not politically correct.

In hindsight, I probably should not have brought up the linkage design. I am not a suspension expert. I would pay extra for a proven design. I.e VPP, Maestro or anything Dave Weagle has a patent for.

Another thing I considered while developing the above pearl of wisdom was that you'd have you spend at least 6k on a suitable shock to match your fluorescent frame and aggressive #Enduro skill set. I say at least 6k coz you're gonna want all the joeys on the trail to ask you about it.

Lastly, I factored in the back up. I've of a guy waiting up to 10 weeks for a V4 frame before requesting a refund. After sales service should be a top priority for any consumer.

So yes, I stand by that Commencals do not represent the best in value. R37K buys you a brand new Giant Reign. I don't need to tell you about the Reign though, you "got the first one in the country".

And finally, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Don't be a dick. There's no need to patronise on the Hub.

  5. Damn ja that sucks!! All the best for procedure dude! Sure you'll be back on the trails in no time!

Did you get the Stealth black frame?? What extra decals do you get with? Its a sick ride I'm not a huge Spez fan but I'll give it to them any day they got the Stumpy EVO 650b and The Enduro's geo sweet! They almost had me sold.

Yeah I went all black! Looks great with the Pike and Spike wheels. It came with decals for the "Specialized" on the down tube and the "Evo" bit on the top tube. 5 colours; Red, Blue, Green, Electro and Chrome. Doubt I'll ever use them. I'm too big a fan of the stealth look.

  6. I was also considering the Stumpy expert EVO carbon after riding one.. They are sweet and the framesets are now going for 20k incl a dropper! Stealth black. But I'm gna stick out on the old 26" for another 2yrs... Getting my dream frame a SB66c!!

Crisis, I should have held out for another month! Could have saved a cool 5k! Having a procedure done at the end of May that puts me down for 2months, so 5k for an extra month of trail doesn't seem too bad actually.

  7. What did you get?

Spez Stumpy Expert Evo 650b. I was considering the Spez, Pascoe, Patrol and Alloy Bronson.

I wanted a great all rounder and that's exactly what I got. My budget was capped at 27k for a frame, dropper, headset, and stem. The Stumpy was the only carbon option and it worked out to be the cheapest! hahaha I was beyond stoked

  8. Looked at some reviews on the Spitfire and I must say that bike is awesome.

Got to agree with you there man. Can't believe I didn't even consider it when I was doing the same thing a month ago.
