1. Surely this is some sort of record? #HubStats
2. Anybody else reevaluating after Santa Cruz dropped this this morning?
3. I'm quite curious to hear what fellow Jeffsy riders are using as lower downtube/ bottom bracket protection. I was quite surprised to find that the bike didn't come with a hard plastic sump guard like in the attached photo. I'd also dig to hear how a set of wider rims has improved the ride. I'm loving this whip right now but rims and Onza tyres are probably gonna go soon. Cheers
4. You're a true gent for offering Meezo, but not to worry. I've got 2 fresh Ibex on my Jeffsy, I was just curios as to where to find them should I need new rubber. Cheers man
5. If you don't mind me asking, where did you manage to find the Minion DHF 29x2.5?
6. I managed to get ahold of the last Jeffsy AL XL on Thursday morning. Their sales manager went out of his way to deliver it personally on Friday morning as well. Great spec, great price, great service. Cheers YT SA
7. I think I read something on the SC website about it having bottle mounts inside the front triangle.
8. Would love to see a shootout between this, the Remedy 29er and Evil's The Following.
9. Thunderbolt or Instinct get my vote. The 29er Trek Remedy is also pretty rad. Good luck man.
10. Hi Guys, Just curious if that was the only Bronson stolen? There's a very suspicious ad on Gumtree at the moment advertising a medium Bronson frame with a CC DB shock for R11500. I can't see any decals so they might have had it resprayed. Here's the link: http://www.gumtree.co.za/a-sports-bicycles-fitness/crawford/santa-cruz-bronson-27-5-frame/1001530433440910859322809 The same guy was advertising a 2016 Bronson frame but calling it a 2015. Here's that link: http://www.gumtree.co.za/a-sports-bicycles-fitness/beaufort-west/santa-cruz-bronson-2015-frame/1001510848760910002562609 Regards, Gaz
11. Stumpy Evo 650b ticks all those boxes too.
12. Helderberg Cycleworks and Revolution Cycles in Bree St Cape Town. Good luck man.
13. Have tried all the concept stores? New bikes should still be 20% off.
14. Dare I say it.. but all Spez bikes are currently less 20%..
15. I am in agreement with my friend Brawler. Running the Pascoe with 140mm fork may compromise the geometry a bit. Pygas are like "shlong reverse mullet" bikes. Party in the front, business in the back. On a trail shredding machine like the OneForty, you're going to want a stiff fork and solid wheelset to get the most out of your machine. Each to his own of coarse. Those 2 components would be top of my list. The X-Fusion forks are great value if you ask me. You'll be able to save a bit there. Flows are the trail staple for a reason. You might be able to save a bit by going for Inferno or Funn wheels. A lot depends on your choice of hubs though. You might have to relinquish a dropper post unfortunately. All in all, this could be a fun build if you're prepared to wait a bit and spend on the parts that frame deserves. You won't regret it. Alternatively, Commencal frames are going for 15.5k on Dial'd and they come with an invitation to join the free masons. (I'm joking, we're friends now) Happy trails man
16. "The frame is only 15k coz it has "Commencal" on it. They don't have a superior suspension design that many buyers are willing to pay a premium for." Hahaha still haven't gotten over that? Good for you man. I made that comment, just in case you guys were wondering. It's a cult brand so my "gem" was likely not politically correct. In hindsight, I probably should not have brought up the linkage design. I am not a suspension expert. I would pay extra for a proven design. I.e VPP, Maestro or anything Dave Weagle has a patent for. Another thing I considered while developing the above pearl of wisdom was that you'd have you spend at least 6k on a suitable shock to match your fluorescent frame and aggressive #Enduro skill set. I say at least 6k coz you're gonna want all the joeys on the trail to ask you about it. Lastly, I factored in the back up. I've of a guy waiting up to 10 weeks for a V4 frame before requesting a refund. After sales service should be a top priority for any consumer. So yes, I stand by that Commencals do not represent the best in value. R37K buys you a brand new Giant Reign. I don't need to tell you about the Reign though, you "got the first one in the country". And finally, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Don't be a dick. There's no need to patronise on the Hub.
17. Yeah I went all black! Looks great with the Pike and Spike wheels. It came with decals for the "Specialized" on the down tube and the "Evo" bit on the top tube. 5 colours; Red, Blue, Green, Electro and Chrome. Doubt I'll ever use them. I'm too big a fan of the stealth look.
18. What's the pricing like on a Spitfire? What about a Kona Process? I gave it some thought when I was looking, but there's no frame only option apparently.
