  1. Might be lucky with warrantee here, waiting to find out after public holiday.. Cheers.
  2. Just had a ride of funny noises coming from the rear hub when free wheeling before a crack sound and loss of engagement between cassette and wheel on a climb. Have this one:http://pedaljam.co.uk/novatec-d712sb-rearhub.html Is it a single closed unit and whole thing likely to need replacing? Or can pawls etc. be repaired/replaced and avoid a rebuild?
  3. I'm in, but this looks to be a wet one!
  4. Jonkers also has a lot of trail runners - normally its all good except when they run UP the Fire Trail etc. when its only one way (DOWN!). There is a big "Don't enter" sign at the bottom, I can't see how you can miss it...
  5. Lumens seems to be a lot like Watts in the audio world. Measured in so many different ways and never really reflecting quality of the product.
  6. Was it the Deca? For R1500 it looks like good value.
  7. Cheers - also considering Light & Motion and possibly Lezyne options.
  8. is there a distributor for Lupine in the Western Cape?
  9. Interesting thread. A club would be a good move as long as 95% of the money went into trail maintenance and the remainder disseminating information more effectively than sifting through threads like this one
  10. Went up yesterday for the first time since summer. Appreciate the bits of work that have been done along the yellow and red routes. Thorn season is pretty much over with all this rain (they break open to germinate) and I've never felt unsafe on this route (ride alone mostly). Forgot how great the views are when you get to the top of that hill w/ fynbos and start the single track (red/purple I believe).
  11. How much are they going for, if I may ask? They look to be exactly what I want.
  12. Ended up leaving saguaro on front and put a rocket ron on rear. Pretty grippy and fast combo so far. Keen to see how it handles when things get a bit wetter. Maybe swap them around depending on how fast the old ronald wears.
  13. Ran the saguaro in traction on the rear? I'll check out Ardent and Ikon as options too.
  14. I put an AKA on the rear last September and its pretty much eaten up now on the middle knobs (fair bit of asphalt riding to get to trails). Still a great tyre for loose gravel and hardpack stuff, but not great in mud / wet conditions imo. Thinking of putting Saguaro on rear coming in to wetter months - already have one on front but its in "speed" direction. Thinking to put both in "traction" direction for winter? Anyone else running these? Or should I jump over to one of the Schwalbe tyres for rear instead?
