If you are hammering it down the dh trails, sure. Riding everything else is fine on a hard tail. Would be my preferred weapon of choice for mast or noordhoek peak. I get what you're saying about the perceived rockiness for up country folk.

Also want to add that if the wind is blowing like it is today, you aren't exactly going to be loving life riding towards Cape Point, the other direction will be way more appealing.

Definitely mountain bike! From Kalk Bay it’s a short ride to Clovelly which gets you to ou wa pad (next to ou kaapse weg) from there you have noordhoek peaks, Tokai (arguably some of the best trails in SA) the beautiful mast climb. Can connect to newlands/kirstenbosch via the greenbelt trails, Table Mountain loop from there, missing link, back around chappies or on the trail next to constantia nek road. If you don’t want to take ou wa pad to Tokai, there are loads of riders on main road going towards Tokai. Also you can ride your Mtb on the road when doing the peninsula loop, Cape Point etc. Throw in a wine tasting/breakfast for the rest of the family in stellies take the bike with.

I replaced my sons levers with Shimano mt200’s, I think they were R250 each from my lbs. They actually feel pretty good.

On a positive note. This was sorted out within 1 day of logging.

Descending Constantia Nek this morning on the Hout Bay side, came across a bag of cement that had been dropped on the road, causing a hazardous raised section. This is just after the sharpish right hand turn. I have logged a service request on the COCT site.

Bump!

I’m trying to locate a 3D model to print a replacement battery door/cover for a Stages dual power meter that’s mounted on a Shimano 12-speed crank. Has anyone come across a 3d model for this part, or might know where I could find one? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Or even a replacement of the actual part would be good!
