I see the other side here. His agent apparently been working with Madrid for nigh on 2years to put a deal together. He was talking to Madrid while promising his future to Liverpool and wanted to be captain. ( what he was saying ) had numerous opportunities to re sign but chose not to and instead run down his contract and leave on a free. Ensuring a higher wage at Madrid and saving them money too. For a lad who has spent his entire life at Liverpool and the club that gave him everything maybe a modicum of loyalty is deserved. The trophies won are a straw argument.
