  5. Ja. I had Leeukop and Crowthorne mixed up. We had such awesome days at the track. Used to leave home on Friday evening on our nifty 50s , watch the double feature at halfway house drive in then Kip at track. Glorious times.
  6. I was chatting to an oke and we got talking bout the legendary Ford XR8. These were built in limited numbers by Ford ZA to race in production class racing in ZA and only 250 were built. I think for production car racing back in the day there had to be at least 200 built to qualify. I recall a Few years ago seeing an XR8 go for 105 000 pounds. 😢. So I thought let me check pricing of XR8s now. Couldn’t find any but found this one https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202409053695098?sort=price-desc&advertising-location=at_cars&make=Ford&model=Sierra&postcode=GU50EH&price-to=500000&fromsra quite unbelievable. the heyday of ZA racing was incredible. Whole days of motorcycle or car racing chilling at kyalami in the glorious sun. The long straight down to Leeukop ( iirc). Certainly good times. The GTV6 3.0 was also a car built specifically for ZA racing iirc. anyway, nostalgic Friday.
  7. Pravin Gordhan passed. The man had a huge influence on our lives , especially our financial lives. RIP
  8. Just thought I would update this post with battery life of my enduro 3. charged fully on 30th August. ( 13 days ago). Very little sun for solar charging, I live in the Uk after all. I ran the pulse ox all the time for about 4 days and then just evenings for another day or 2. Then switched it off completely. I have completed about 15 hours of training in GPS mode in this period. I was also mucking about with settings etc a lot in this time bedding the unit down so to speak. this Morning it was on 31 percent. With pulse ox off and having mucked about enough with settings I have charged it to 100 percent and will see how much longer the battery will last with normal usage of running and cycling. I anticipate 4 weeks.

  13. Happy to report after a losing streak of 11 losses on the trot I had a nice win on Saturday , 2 in fact which put me in the black for the season. Up 6 quid for the season thus far. Whoop whoop. Farnborogh won, great game.
  14. Both are awesome devices. Can’t really go wrong with Garmin. big ticket purchases so make the choice you going to be happy with.
  15. The nylon strap is surprisingly comfortable. I have some replacement 26 silicone straps but have not used them yet as the nylon one is excellent. Have even ordered another nylon too. Not tried it swimming yet but I guess it would be ok too.

  17. What a day out at aldershot FC. Final score 4 -3. Up and down game. I was in the terraces. Proper British football experience. Sang the songs and clapped and lived in the moment. Reminded me of old school games pre hillsborough. took these pics long before kick off. Before folks came en masse. Terraces were jammed. farnborough also won. Saints were woeful. Even with Ramsdale.
  18. Now even higher

  21. So, thinking that Farnborough were playing away tomorrow I bought tickets to Aldershot game. https://www.theshots.co.uk . Last time I went to a shots game was 2 seasons ago against Wrexham. Wrexham now 2 leagues higher of course. Ground holds about 5000 and Aldershot quite a working man’s town so to speak so it’s a Lekker arvie out. I love working man England if that makes sense. and last week the shots were also at home and set off flares and threw coins at the opposition supporters which has now, resulted in the aborting of plans to move the opposing fans and home fans terraces closer together which would create space to have more folks in. This is the 5th tier of English football and it’s competitive, I dare say the shots would beat bafana bafana as an example. Farnborough are in the 6th tier and my local side ,Guildford city, are in the 9th tier. anyway, tomorrow it’s a short bus journey, pie and beer day.
  22. New kicks and new watch. Kayano 30 as they mucho cheaper than the new models, 98 pounds instead of 170 odd. Winner winner. Garmin Enduro 3. So far so good, just need to figure out some settings.
  23. 100 percent agree. I hear the rental costs are astronomical and coupled with cost of living crisis means folks are using money elsewhere.
