  1. We're SO fortunate here in the Big Smoke to have what we do when it comes to bike parks/places to ride. We might not have the lush greenery or mountains, but we've got a ton of guys doing tons more great work! And I've "only" got my regular spots to be happy about:- VG HAP at Heia (AND... there's a new HAP coming up in Krugersdorp at the Hobby Park, work's already started on the trails) Avianto The Cradle loop Cog and Sprocket at Mount Grace The Magaliesburg loop THEN..... there's all the places in Pretoria too; Groenies (haven't been in years) Buffelsdrift Wolwespruit The Souf has Thaba and Rietvlei Hakahana near Haarties Modderfontein... PWC Park Northerns Breedts I"m sure I'm missing some here, point is we're lucky and I'm very grateful for what we have! oh , The Spruit too.
  2. Due to work obligations I had to annoyingly ditch the Trailseeker today BUT.... every cloud.... has another trail to ride... I managed a quick sub hour at Heia before going in. I've never done the whole of blue before,on it's own, always as part of the other routes.... It's longer than I thought... funner than I thought ....AND, HARDER, than I thought. It's not the kiddies trail Darren's also built some new HUGE berms for one to "Matt Hunter" on. Another beautiful autumn sunrise... the second floating bridge is a rather pretty sight at the moment... surrounded by lush green.
  3. a family member brought them back from Aus for me. But I'm sure they're here. I think it was Joel Stransky I saw wearing them on the Epic footage.
  4. I've been rather naughty over the last 12 months.... these are my latest and hopefully my last additions for a while... but it's not my fault for buying ... there's so much temptation out there this one is actually popcorn_skollie's fault... he posted a pic of it in a thread and I just HAD to get one!!! got this funky riding cap from the same company (http://www.brainstormgear.com/ Great service, awesome products) , this is the underside of the peak This I blame on the Epic (where I first saw them)... never been the biggest fan of white frames, but just loved the look of these!
  5. not that long, but you get an idea of what's been done.
  6. Another tease!!! First a mate and his son trying out the extension of the blue route at Heia and he sent me clips of the ride IMG_5201.MOV just realized he filmed it upside down...oops now you! If I didn't need this job thing to buy more bike stuff, I'd bunk and ride all day
  7. I did just that, holds quite well, but also wrapped and elastic tightly around it, just to be extra sure.
  8. couldn't agree more! Been a rough week and even though I sukkeled to get going this morning ( not because of the cold, nor getting up at 5... my head just wasn't in it, the mind is a powerful thing!! ) I had an AWESOME ride at Avianto! Spent ages at the dam on Western Blue loop(which, btw, I eventually figured is what Phambili is...saw the sign ) taking pics, watching the rest of the sunrise and just taking in the stunning surroundings.... Just wished I could've ridden longer and further... Now for the bombardment of pics...
  9. As proven by the last three awful pics.
  10. RnR.... You can't! You can try! But you can't! It's like a bag of Flings/Cheese Curls/Nik Naks (or all 3!!)....... once you start...... especially when Ryan and Gummi start teasing....
  11. I LOVE this bike klein Ben!!
  12. What an absolutely BEAUTIFUL, and typically highveld, autumn morning. Bitterly cold to start but into the low to mid 20's by late morning with no wind. The sunrise was absolutely spectacular, my photo does it no justice at all. Whoever booked a hot air balloon flight today hit the sunrise lottery! One of my best rides of the year so far, even though I ate sand ...TWICE ... but don't worry, save the cringes, not a mark on my bike, only I bled Beautiful autumn colours on the trail at FUN Gaalens.
  13. As I've said before... it doesn't matter where your bikes take you any day....even down your driveway to your postbox... just keep showing us those beauties!
  14. My account is all about my bikes and my rides, my rides and my bikes. Although there might a pic or two that are unacceptably not bike related. quite new to it, so not that many pics. https://instagram.com/theonlyltg/
  15. I was lucky to catch the sunrise at FUN Gaalens
  16. Schwalbe CX Pro front Schwalbe CX Comp rear
  17. Great weekend... 3 days of awesome riding. Today...Cog and Sprocket at Mount Grace
  18. Did Breedts for the first time today. Never been too interested as there's "not much to it". Not saying it's easy, but I'm a singletrack kind of guy. Had a great morning out with mates, albeit a VERY chilly start! Spectacular views and super fun downhills!
  19. It's gone down to Bogus to be resprayed. Luckily my LBS had something I could still use in the meantime..it's permanently locked out
  20. Yip! after the recent incidents, I kept my distance, especially because there are a couple babies here.
  21. Today's a normal work day for me BUT...., I did some extra prep yesterday So.. I managed a sunrise start at HAP at Heia Safari before dashing back. always stunning views on the Red loop not a big fan of posting pics of myself, so doesn't happen often.. BUT this ride was so good, I pooped rainbows. (AND had a Camelhorse sit on my handlebar) HAD to share
  22. I heart this bike!
  23. After what started out as quite a rubbish morning (weatherwise)... An absolutely GORGEOUS morning at FUNGaalens! This pic does the setting and what my eyes saw no justice!! it's such a privilege to be able ride here week after week! A holy trinity of bikes up at the Greek Church a Tallboy an Anthem X1 and my Camber.
  24. damn you technology!! damn you gadgets! #shutupandtakemymoney
