If I’ve missed an existent post about this .. apologies. bit I just learned of Tony’s passing we were not close friends, but I had the privilege and honor of many chats (mostly SS related) and deals with the gentleman. I know he was a Hubber since forever. ReSST in Peace Tony 💔
  2. for future ref.... If you go through the middle of that farm/field you can avoid the plague that is those devil's thorns. Took a group out in December and what was supposed to be a decent 40/50km ride was cut down to 20odd due a billion "DNFs" from punctures from those thorns (sealant could only help so much)
  3. I swear by this product http://www.ecologic.co.za/ I use it on my bike, kitchen, bathroom. so far it's done wonders for getting stains out my riding gear. The guy who makes it, Pierre is a fellow cyclist, so also supporting our own.
  4. This topic has been brought up over and over.. but I can’t find anything helpful. It’s time for my eldest son,4, to move off his balance bike onto pedal power... The balance bike is now to be passed on to his younger brother, 2. I’d like the balance bike to be a “new” bike in the eyes of my youngest. So just looking for a change of colour wrap. I’m assuming this is cheaper then painting. Any suggestions?
  5. Before lockdown, I filled my photobank for my social media duties... Thought I'd share a cople of my last pics seeing as everyone's are from inside
  6. joining this chat late but.. I use mine on every ride, in fact I use two ... and my phone. I use the GoPro phone app for editing, serves my needs perfectly. I also use them when out with my boys. Well worth it. Look out for some good deals soon, The Hero 8 is being launched on the first of next month, so maybe there'll be some specials.
  7. and when the trail passes through a land owner's property where they've allowed access but don't want signage up? almost 40 different properties... must be easy to keep all generous land owners and fussy riders happy. Rocks are marked with white arrows in many places.
  8. they'll never be good enough for those people they're not good enough for.
  9. Thanks DJR... must admit of being a fan of it too

  13. I haven't posted in this thread, let alone BikeHub at all, for months and months. with a 1 & 3 year old at home, my wedding (last month) and work.. there's no time. This week (Tuesday night) 9 overly friendly and courteous gentleman entered my place of work, a family business my Grandfather opened in 1953 (firt time this ever happened), and with gleaming pistols relieved me of cash, my phone and other valuables. I was convinced my phone's was on my work PC... can't find it. Anyway, in my search I've become a bit gatvol and that story and decided I'm posting some "Where my bike's taken me" I've come across from the last few months. 14. The fun I've had with this bike has been off the charts!! The handling of this bike was amazing.. and then there was the speed on flats and climbs (when I rode alone)..INSANE!!!! I had the bike set up as follows Eco: 3-5% of max...I used this and OFF a lot. Kind of made up for the weight a bit and gave me a great extra workout when off. Trail:-30% of max and Turbo:- 100% obviously My average HR riding this bike was always 80% of max and above... I flippen rode it! I'm 44. my 80% starts at around 141bpm People who think I'm lazy/don't like me/are jealous for riding an Ebike... .. cool... I don't care. My bike My time and my FUN!! I never "pushed" anyone out the way on the trails (I upset a few roadies on the road on my way out the Cradle back to work a couple times .. never intentionally, but the chirps showered me many times.... just their egos and bitterness getting the better of them ) Always courteous on the trails, just like when on my "normal" bike. I just did things FASTER! Well this bike now has a new owner, a very lucky new owner as it was immaculate! Onto newer things.. Working 7 days a week a business that trades from 6:30am till 7pm closed 3 days a year I grab my rides when I can This, allows me to fit more in.. BUT if I worked "normal" hours.... I'd still ride it Ebikes DO belong on the mountain. if people want to chirp me.. , go mad ... "sticks and stones........." You don't like it... don't ride it. simple.
  15. if it did, no popcorn.. no fun.
  16. Concurred.... indeed.... I thought we had hence... "If said poker player was cheating, the unhappiness of his fellow players would be justified and said poker player should be taken to gallows"
  17. If said poker player was cheating, the unhappiness of his fellow players would be justified and said poker player should be taken to gallows. If not, his fellow card players deserve their unhappiness.
  18. Yip.. -No E-bikes for races/events etc (unless they have a specific group that starts a day after the rest of the field) -Those with or who've ridden E-bikes, like, condone and see a place for them....and are easily identifiable from the permanent huge grin. -Those who don't like them, don't just not like them... they make sure the world's aware they don't like them and go on and on and on and on and on about the fact......... and on...and on ....and on...... and on.....and on....
  19. A bit of catch up time again... Been off the everything (Bikes/IDT) for the better part of the last 2 weeks thanks to work and sicknessessess. these taken along the ever awesome Cradle MTB loop a few weeks back. (peace) Then Hobby Park 2 weeks ago... my fav channel to watch (annnnd no.. I don't always ride with a DSTV remote in my pocket (only sometimes) . a mate needed an old PVR remote, got the idea for this pic, so took it along
  20. doesn't answer my question. Anyway... Your opinion (and that of the 2 posts above) and you're entitled to it. But..... They're super ..SUPER... fun. I get an incredible workout on mine, that I'm fortunate AF to have. You should really just try one one day...
  21. A quick spin on some of Cradlemoon's really awesome Yellow route yesterday to test the new Edge 130 Very impressive little unit this (TWSS) ticks all the boxes for what I need. Trails at CM are flippen good... loads of good work going into them...very kiff I hope some day in the future a Cradle network, incorporating all the parks in the area, will eventually happen
  22. I just think all round it's worth the extra but the most important reason... Quieter. makes 4am sessions at home more possible.
