  3. Sunrise ride to Avianto yesterday
  4. " Spank" me and call me Suzie!!!! Sies maar daardie baaik is mooi!!! Hope Tant Miem enjoyed the spanking .... I haven't been there in a month ( DaggaPad/Tant Miems .. Not VG) I miss her!!
  5. This is my Django... he's about 6 months old now, adopted him when he was about 3 months old, from FORA. Hes a cross between brown, dog and pure love! (Lab X possible chow and something else, not sure) this is how we first learned of him... to this at home to the amazing handsome little maniac he is now
  6. make sure you stretch your face before you do... you're going to smile W I D E !! ( but best your shoulder's sorted, those downhills are short but a bit of work)
  7. Summer's (almost) here.... day's are lovely.. but that teeny first bit of the morning still bites. a pleasant "still dark-to sunrise" cruise down to Avianto then a spin through the super fun west loop of Blue with a couple mates.
  8. Did you notice any above average bike traffic? it's the Gravel Xpress today, VG to Breedts and back. couldn't make it...work just did a short ride at Avianto.
  9. Congrats Matt and the gang All the best.
  10. A bit LOTS... of fun at Heia yesterday... after a loop of yellow got stuck into doing the berms over and over and over ... ..................and over we were like two kids big smiles
  11. http://www.strava.com/activities/149364142 This is Sean Badenhorst's Strava upload from his ride. ride with a few mates when doing this, not only to share the experience but you don't want to do this alone!
  12. So... after a few postponements I eventually got round to doing the Vulture at Van Gaalens yesterday. Perfect day to do it, lots of markings on the route because the Crazy Store trail run next week is pretty much the entire Vulture, however If i didn't have the GPS file on my Garmin, I'd probably still be up there... also, weather was perfect (except for the veld fires) it was pretty clear. Pics don't do the view justice... it's insane, I think I saw Kenya it's so high Looking south from the top of the Magaliesberg Looking west along the range I'd recommend a couple things if you ever do this:- LOTS of water ( I went through 3L and ran out about 90mins before we finished) Lots of suspension TIME a couple race food bars or similar upper body strength, LOTS of carrying A HUGE sense of humor wings or a helicopter It's a challenge of note, well, was for me at least. 5 and 3/4 hours ride time, total time out was 7 hours. Granted I thought I was smart and took a wrong turn that added about 10-ish km and half an hour-ish to our time , but it's a long day out none the less. I wouldn't recommend it in summer...the top of the range is about 4m below the sun Once I've sifted though my GoPro footage, I'll post a better pic or two
  13. Ditto this.. Nice one Crow.Loadshedding's just kicked in... I'm broken from my ride today... This is massaging my brain... Goodnight!
  14. You, sir, are 100% correct. More of a second home than a LBS
  15. I'll do my best to get round to it Pity you couldn't make it...You missed some awesome riding. Gary Green's trails are amazing!
  16. I'm guessing I missed a lot of the trails, rode mostly tar and dirt roads.

  19. So... I went down to the Central Drakensberg last week, for SA Singlespeed Champs in Winterton. I made an extended weekend of it and went down on Thursday already, here's the photo bombardment Thursday:- I just rode from our (pretty awesome)B&B into town and around.
  20. Sies to all of these!
  21. Didn't do the clinic. it only started at 9. and yes... definitely some(read "LOTS") suspension..
  22. Kekeke indeed! Um, I think I would've been spewing shards of my pelvis had I tried that Rinkhals on it. I was grateful for every mm of travel I had yesterday...my old, fragile body is feeling it today (the Green Beastie is not whole... got my fork back from Bogus on Friday, so it's being prepped for the madness that will ensue in Winterton in 2 weeks time )
  23. Ride plans for today changed last minute for me.. had a long ride planned at VG, but this work dictated otherwise then a mate asked if I wanted to join for the Enduro skills clinic at Hakahana. It started too late but I said we could go there anyway if he wanted (both never been) we did...we climbed...we pushed...we climbed....we pushed.... we experienced awesome views and quite a gnarly downhill...(SP1) I thought I was ok in the technical department... ...thought... You Enduro okes are something else... but I'll go again views are amazing! this side of the mountain... that side
