  1. check out this thread from a while back for some tips. https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=50115
  2. Thanks for all the input Guys. much appreciated!
  3. I'm considering buying a pair of Crystal Rydons from CWC, I've been using Evil Eyes for ages and love them, no hassles with them whatsoever, but for the pure convenience of the Photochromic lenses I'm considering the Rudys. Haven't tried a pair on before so don't know if they're comfortable or not. are they anything like Oakleys? ALL Oakleys grind my head like a vice, specially Radars, so not an Oakley fan at all. do the Rudys live up tp the Hype?
  4. That's awesome Muxman!! Well done to her!!!
  5. Beer...but warm beer! Lucky i took my own stash, as i always do, in case!
  6. I made a HUGE mistake (again) doing the 25km! I's changed my 50 for a 25 not so long ago for various reasons, and man do i regret it! took me what felt like 8 years to finish with all the stopping! I realize with the shorter distance route there're always going to be hold ups here and there, just didn't expect it to be as much, i guess because there were 3 billion people riding, wow what a turn out! don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about event/route or anything, just my own stupidity! IF,in future, for whatever reason, I cant do the distance...i won't do the event! I'm no pro or a great rider by a long shot, but if a 10 year old can do the route on a bmx (man that little guy flew) I'm a chop for doing the same route! (with gears!!) L.T.G2009-11-14 05:51:35
  7. Well said
  8. deal!
  9. Red Devil mentions Bicycling, not Tread. The Tread Mag absolutely does mention the R25.00 fee. Bicycling also does list the fee I'm sure. Although I could be wrong. You are right though, the entrance fee has been around for a few months as well as the signage. I'm such a chop! You're 100% right Dassie, it WAS Bicycling (I even mentioned it to Linda at Van Gaalens after in came out) what i meant to add was that there's also a write up in Tread! (wrote that reply in a bit of a hurry with a million things in my head..oops)
  10. Groenies is nice.... VG is AWESOME!!! as i mentioned a while ago, the single track there is SO sweet, I always leave with cavities!
  11. Don't get it either! I'm just glad nothing happened, to the bikes or anyone else. I had a minibus full of people behind me when it happened.... could've been A LOT worse!
  12. Your Bike/s survive?
  13. I've dropped the rack off at my LBS, apparently the Thule guy is going there today to check it out. Yip, nylon nuts...that's what i was told.
  14. Coming back from Van Gaalens on Sunday, I almost lost two bikes. a nut "mysteriously" disappeared of a bolt on my Thule Euroway. How the remaining part of the rack managed to hold up both bikes is a miracle! L.T.G2009-11-09 03:03:49
  15. I had a bad day today, the kind where everything was going wrong. I none the less managed to have a fantastic ride(as always) @ Van Gaalens, thanks to Paul , mostly, and Jan for helping me with a snapped chain. These guys didn't hesitate for a second to stop and help me. Thanks Paul and Jan! You guys are legends!
  16. MUD GLORIOUS MUD today!!so awesome.... but at a cost Friday night's storm caused so much damage, bridges washed off their places, trails damaged, all that beautiful hard work in pieces! Santa, hope it looks worse then it is, for your mate's sake. my heart goes out man!
  17. if you don't come right and want to sell, i think Skaap might be interested.
