  1. AND they have a floating Bridge!!! LOVE the floating bridge! nice to cool down after a couple of the climbs!
  2. Found MORE new trails today!!! dunno if i just missed them last time or if they were made this last week. Bridges, water crossings..... this place is AWESOME!!!
  3. i did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. I know this has been brought up a million times for different venues, but i STILL need to vent!! The guys at Teak have planted a couple trees that will in due course provide nice shaded parking... HOWEVER some riders must think that EMPTY GU sachets must assist as a fertilizer as i noticed quite a few strewn around the parking lot this morning! These people must have the IQ of a turd! it seriously PHUCKS me off!! i mean , how HARD can it be to find a bin, or chuck it at home?? and how hard are you riding that need one for training in the first place!!!! aren't they meant to boost you for races?? I'm just livid!!! if i see someone chuck one on the floor, i won't even say anything... the "chucker" will just get a flathand of note!!

  11. Haven't been to Teak in about 3 weeks, and there're some fun new trails cut as part of the black/blue route, just after the "look out point" downhill. not much, but nice to see bits are being added to an already awesome place. PS don't be Cowboys (or Lara Crofts) I was a bit complacent (ie being a cowboy!!) this morning and saw my touche'!! when misjudging some loose sand on the black trail round the "splash and dash" dam! Still, ..had the best ride, even though i had to come back to work!!

  13. DUDE!!, My house mate is like this and It pisses me off soooo much! he stands at the effing door for like 2-3 minutes feeling if its closed, he is going to pull the darn Doorknob off the door if he goes onn like that. then its the security gates turn.. again.. 2-3 minutes, by the time he is done Im so irritated I just want to leave!!! my Gosh If I lock it, I feel the key turn, I check it onec- ITS LOCKED! If we go ride and he locks up, I have done 3 or 4 warmup laps around the block by the time he comes out.. Yeah, I wash I wasn't like that, but seriously can't help it. I'll checked it's locked, tell myself it's locked, KNOW it's locked...and still turn round after driving 200m down the road to make sure again!! Car, same story! My business doors, same story! Securing bike onto rack, same story! Maybe that Karoo idea isn't so bad after all!!
  14. I love my bike being clean and shiny just as much as love her being barely recognizable after an awesome ride! After a good ride, i'll do my best to wash and shine her up, taking care to not use pressure to force water into where it shouldn't be. Once dry, she'll be Mr. Min'd to the tee, properly lubed and then put in the bike room till next time. now, for me..this in normal... I know i'm pretty anal, eg:- i'll check my car and house doors a million times before convincing myself they're locked, so yes, there is an aroma of OCD in the air when i'm around, it freaked my mind how many people i noticed at the Silverstar on Sat with flithy bikes. some looking like they'd been ridden on the way there, no worries for me there, others like they'd had a great couple of km's ripped onto them the day before, still minimal worries for me there (yet i wouldn't be able to not clean before) but some came looking like they'd never been cleaned before!!ever i felt so sorry for them...the bikes that is. Now, I'm not judging those people, it's their bikes, but it made me wonder if I perhaps, "over-clean" my bikes?
  15. hope your wife's ok!! Shame, rough week!
  16. what goes around...WILL come around..idiot will get it ten times worse! i always park far away from the other cars, what happen to you always worries me!
  17. welcome back
  18. What an awesome day!!! firstly,I got to sleep in..only woke up at 630am, to a beautiful day! Breakfast, dressed, left...took a drive out to Van Gaalens from Krugersdorp. the Magalies range looked beautiful, the day is so clear i could almost see Tuesday! Rode the Van Gaalans single track (which seriously is heaven on earth) and the new track that Eric has added, awesome, but challenging, on my older trusty hardtail (stock Scott aspect 10, except for replaced cranks, now SLX), ..man that bike is awesome, never given me a day's sh*t! Now wash and shine time! PS for those of you who do ride Van Gaalens and don't know, it's not free anymore.(hasn't ben for a little while now) Fee is a measly R25, so please make sure you pay before riding, there's nobody checking, so it boils down to just being honest. Latest Bicycling mentions it's free, but that's wrong. Upkeep doesn't come free and Eric does an awesome job! Enjoy the rest of the beautiful Sunday.
  19. I faced a dilemma this past week, either pull out of the Silverstar or change my entry to the 20km. I have a nagging ankle injury, and would rather do bits of lots then lots of nothing! also, needed to be back at work asap this morning! I'm glad i did the event, I'm a Krugersdorp boy and it was nice to have an event on my doorstep (almost literally) .... and a big thanks to iTec/Silverstar all involved.., no hassles... BUT not for me again, don't get me wrong..not complaining, simply sharing..way toooo much tar for me and way way way too much traffic for an event... So as mundane as the 20 was, ..I'm glad i did it as opposed to the 40, as there was alot more tar involved...i'm not a fan of tar..I like getting dirty. been there, done that.. rather give a Magalies Nandos everyday!!! and lastly to the lady, that got splashed with my mud by me,through the SINGLE watery muddy crossing on the whole route, that thanked me for being "awesome".... it you don't want to get dirty, get white socks and a road bike..stay away from an mtb.... (no offense to roadies)
  20. you're going to be super happy! they're "POR"fect!!!! (couldn't resist!!)
