Had my 1st ride today with xx1 groupset. Chose a really hilly ride to try it out with the 32T blade. I struggled to get into a rhythm on the climbs. I could not find a gear I could tap out a good rhythm while putting down decent power on the climbs. Is this normal? Does it take some getting use too? It is not that I ran out of gears but rather awkward ratios compared to my xtr groupset. It could also be that I had a fairly hard ride on sat, mon and tue and now today..................

It is a common problem. Topic was discussed on supercycling before as well. Google it! Buddy of mine had it real bad. Changed his shoes (sidi to specialized) and it solved the problem. Reckon it has to do with fit, cleat position and bridge support and most probably cleat position

Final groups = starting at the back = no thanks I'll rather hit the singletracks then. Not bitching, plans just changed for the wknd

The best is if they pull over and jump out of their car and before they can start their verbal abuse you knock them the **** out. Only cool if they are the wrong party

Should have turned around and walked out! There is no way they could have argued their way out of that bit of bad behavior. I would have 1st made a scene though. Shocking from the fossil's side

I agree with you on the point that the valley is really beautiful. This is 1 of the reasons why it is such a pity that the mtb race was so badly organized.

Where to start............... On the start line they said they had to change the route due to heavy rains during the week and the distance is 48km and not 42km. Fair enough! Within the 1st 10km most of the field missed a turnoff due to arrows washed away during rain. This was pretty much the problem the rest of the way. They stated the water points will be at 12km, 28km and 5km from finish. I don't care about water points but some do. The 1st water point I saw was at 42km. At this water point I asked how far to end and the guy said that when they changed the route they did not have any idea about the final distance and they guessed it would be about 48km. The total distance at the end was 60km. In my opinion they could have made an effort earlier the week to check the distance after changing the route. 60km is a far cry from their 48km GUESS!. They could have made a effort to chalk the arrows again before the race. People paid R120 to enter and travelled a fair bit. Some people went through the trouble making a wknd out of it SHOCKING!!!!!!!!!!!! They should make way for another race on the calendar from somebody that actually gives a ****

Same here! I think they should make entries 80K next year. Want to see if it would get filled as quickly.

Already have the 32Twolf chain ring. There is a fitting/body available now which you can use to run 1x11 cassettes on any wheelset. It retails for R600. Don't ask me what the name is but the mechanic at bikeshop told me about it today

Don't agree with you here. I will put money on the fact that you will do a lot of walking around here with that ratio.
