  1. Hence my thought to convert cassette to 11/42..................
  2. Don't think I am a slouch on the bike. I actually would like some of the guys on their 32 or 34 with 11/36 to come join me on the trails around Wellington to see if they can comfortably ride the trails. I guess I will have to try it before I shoot it down. Will cost me considerably less if it does turn out to be fine Thanks for the help guys
  3. The hell and back is my last mtb race this year. I'll put on the blade just after that and see how it goes before I buy the cassette converter.
  4. Mmmmmmm............... I did not think about that one.................... Looks like I will convert rather than the upgrade then at this stage
  5. The converter is to convert my cassette to a 11/42 from the current 11/36. I know a lot of people keep the 11/36 cassette but I am not in the mood to have every ride turn into a interval. In the area I ride I figure the extra gears will help. Yes I have a 10 speed xtr rear derailer. The costs remain as above. Judging by those expenses I need to know what you guys think. Convertion or upgrade?
  6. HI Guys! Please give me your opinion on the following. At this stage it is for interest sake but it might help change my mind I am in the process of converting to 1x10. The costs for this will be as follows: 32T woolf chainring: R895 General Lee converter: R1950 XT cassette: R795 (currently have xtr but converter don't fit on xtr) XT chain: R395 Would you guys go for the above or just upgrade to 1x11. I will keep my crank and the woolf chainring I already have and get the following X01 cluster from CRC: R3166 X01 rear derailer from CRC R3166 With dhl shipping and tax the above 2 items will be R6085 Add XX1 gripshift: R1690 XX1 chain R590 In total it will be R4035 for the convertion and about R8365 for the upgrade What's your opinion?
  7. It will be hard to take Sidi on for bad quality. They have been around for a while and top teams race with them. I have a pair and I can not fault them on anything. They might be a bit narrow for my liking and I find that specialized and mavic shoes are more comfortable but quality wise I reckon they are top notch. I find them extremely expensive so I expect nothing less
  8. Dis fine moenie moeite doen. Ek hoop die bywoning gaan goed wees. Die pryse, moeite en gasvryheid is meer as by 99% van die races hier in die Kaap
  9. Hoe lyk die inskrywings?
  10. I am happy for Brandon. He probably needs a good result. Don't see Buys and co recovering from a 10min deficit. At this stage smart money will have to be on the Kleynhans/Woolcock
  11. If they are diversifying it shows that they are dynamic and think about the future. That is the kind of shop I want to deal with. As long as they keep giving good deals and good service.................
  12. District 9 comes to mind for some reason......................
  13. They seem to be out of stock. Also looking at the edge 500. I am itching but I try holding out till December hoping for some festive specials. Not enjoying the joule 2.0 I have to use till then though
  14. Hope Buys and Beukes kick serious ass and take today's (or is it Tuesday?) huge prize money
  15. I did not pitch! Apart from the weather I just did not feel like it.
  16. .
  17. Jeez! I would shat myself! Was this only realized when you got back home?
  18. Was net glad nie lus nie. Nie gerus na 7 weekspoort so teen donderdag was ek heeltemal pap. Sien baie uit na vlg nwk. Voel jy al beter?
  19. Did the Wellington, Hermon, Bothma's kop loop this morning at 6am. Wind was pumping already! The guys are going to struggle big time from Malmesbury back to Stellies All the best!
  20. Yes but can you track the live updates/results? One thing I enjoyed from the epic
  21. Top end models seems to be very high but the models just below them seems to have great spec and not badly priced. I looked at their Stumpjumper Sworks HT now. Probably around 80K but the stumpjumper Marathon is specced full XO1 and if I understood correctly it is a lot cheaper than the S works model
  22. I am also keen to see their 2014 prices. Is it available yet?
