  1. onza ibex front rock razor rear im understeering (except that time at the conters enduro, spun out trying to change direction) :/
  2. now this is sexy http://www.saracen.co.uk/bikes/all-mountain/ariel-152 http://www.chelseabikes.co.uk/images/uploads/ariel%20152.jpg
  3. the talas is nice, i got one be safe, get a rockshox
  4. i have one of those talas 36 rc2s its really nice, pretty heavy, but its adjustable in a lot of ways, which is cool it makes a difference when you lower it for the climbs, but its not a trainsmash if you don't i heard somewhere that jared graves leaves his for in long travel cause sometimes he forgets to extend it for the timed segments all its missing is a light warning you that you forgot to extend it for the first stage of helderberg enduro...
  5. there is a good tyre article in here http://enduro-mtb.com/magazin/viewer/?issue=012
  6. ouch. or maybe he needs the extra time...
  7. its also my name backwards, although the above isint completely untrue also, i love how mayhem just says deal with it and you bring the clever counter arguement lol
  8. cap and mayhem this isint a pm chatroom!
  9. i got a rock razor the other day from mayhem. ive only taken it to paarl so far where it looked like it had rained lightly 2 days before and ground still had some moisture in it that razor had more grip than i was expecting, like, a lot more, unless i tried really hard that thing wasnt going anywhere, and when i did it drifted out gracefully with a really nice transition it ended up being really manageable on the limit of grip, its awesome what i still have to check though is how it handles not perfect conditions. im quite scared its messed with the grip balance of my bike, making it prone to understeer in certain conditions, i got an onza ibex on the front, was great, but im not sure how its gonna keep up with this razor on hardpack. i just realised a problem with having 2 completely different tyres, is how the grip bias will change in different conditions, making the bike handle, in some cases very expectantly. still got a lot of learning to do with this set up ofc
  10. after reading that im too embarrassed to post a pic of my bike it almost looks good now, the rims are black and the bike actually looks pretty good lumo green bars and lumo orange grips are starting to get annoying though! ill post when i get the rims, then i should reach full obnoxiousness
  11. found the article http://www.mbr.co.uk/news/bike_news/size-matters-part-2-finding-limits-geometry-sizing/ interesting read but all i really took from it is that this dude has an awesome job and i really really want his headset would bring my bike from a 69 HA to a 66 HA awesome
  12. unless he had that frame specifically built thats not a 62.5 HA the website says 67.5 for the HA which, for that bike, is plenty, espically since they still have the dune if you want something a little more burly pro, and i assume, slacker. probably just a typo :/
  13. anything is enough if you know how to use it (just realised how dirty that is, nvm) ive been smoked at enduro races by people on hardtails and ive seen people (honestly, just the one person) on dh bikes make xc riders look silly riding UP tokai
  14. and Nico villous (spelling) jerome clementz jared graves most of the EWS top riders in fact and lets not forget martin maes who is one of the top dogs in the EWS and hes barely allowed a drivers license, oh and he won the junior division at fort william this year, the dude doesnt even race DH professionally
  15. yes, but only briefly, what a bike. i know it won a bunch of bike of the year awards and is considered a really playful bike. one of the main things people say about the 29er is that it isint just playful for a 29er, its playful and agile for a bike fullstop. that being said, i thought i made it quite clear that i didnt make a serious post at all there, i dont think it even counts as constructive. if i didnt and everyone got offended, thats my bad and wasnt my intention. so, let me just get my point across in a less offensive manner. if i was Mr. nofearnofun i would wait and get the 650b enduro. what a dilemma to have!
  16. choosing between the 650 enduro and the xc enduro or whatever it is just think to yourself "if i see the other one on the trail, will be be even slightly jealous or sad that i didnt get that one" if the answer is no, then it doesnt matter which one you get just think about it youre sitting on your 29er enduro talking to your friends, all the spandex "oaks" checking you out, and a 650 enduro rails past, are you gonna be like "F***" <-- (damn) or, you shredding past some dude sitting on the side of the trail whos clearly trying to justify the size of his wheels without admitting that hes compensating and you think to your self "i hate this bike, its too playful and it gets around tight corners too easily"
  17. if you want a bike no one else will have, or probably know about: http://www.breezerbikes.com/bikes/details/repack-team if you want a bike no one else will have, but will know about: http://www.konaworld.com/process_153_dl.cfm http://www.yt-industries.com/shop/en/Bikes/Trail/Capra-CF-Pro then if you want to live in the real world with the rest of us you can get something from one of the more boring companies like spesh and giant. or maybe one of those fancy commencals. (im not saying the reigns and trances and stumpys and enduros are bad, im saying its not a rare occurrence to see them, seeing one isint an occasion)
  18. ive only seen a new shape sensor at cwc and i new shape force once at tokai my word, those are good looking bikes my only issue with that force is that there isint an XL one in my garage right now
  19. dude, you cant say that you fell off a roof and then tell us not to ask... thats like putting peanut butter infront of a dog and saying "NO"
  20. wow, a reply from someone who gives numbers! i dont know if you guys only do BH or whatever it is, but what about a 27.5 gt force x frameset?
  21. http://www.redbull.com/uk/en/bike/stories/1331615124826/photostory-bas-keep-quarter-master that might get people over that ledge thing
  22. looks pretty good as it, i think thats fine!
  23. cleats vs flats are completely a preference thing when i started riding i had never ever even had my feet in shoes with cleats, i rode with flats for a while and i knew that id prefer cleats (they were dmr v8s though..) so i got me some cleats and within riding around a car park and half falling into the pool i knew that they were gonna boost my riding. they did.
  24. your approach is wrong http://www.endo-bikes.de/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/i/z/izimu_2012_id_4715.jpg thats where you want your chainstays
  25. i know what you mean, a few weeks ago i went and it was pissing with rain, i decided to go up to the mast (for the first time ever), not another soul past DH3. not a positive temperature past about half way up the tar road either with the wind chill and the fact that i was inside a cloud...
