  1. Out with a very popular cycle group in Fourways on Saturday (The large chain store one ) in a very misty and cold cradle. when we got to the Lanseria intersection 50% of the group went across the stop resulting in a vehicle who already committed to cross the intersection to halt dead in the middle of the road. Give it was super misty and visibility was at around 20-30m I thought to myself we should have rather waited for the car to pass. One guy in the group proceeded to call the guy in the car a few names... I mentioned to him that I think we're wrong and almost got myself into a altercation (the Fourways boet-fighter is everywhere) Point I'm trying to make is {we} as cyclist think of ourselves as untouchable especially in a large group where the entitlement syndrome runs very very thick in some. As thick as this CL member's cranium. I dont think there is a fix for this, best you can do is to always to try and rathe go for the save option and dont be a prick. Car vs Carbon, flesh and bone. Car always wins no matter how many times you call the guy driving a @#$3ing @@s@#$%.
  2. Frustrating I know, problem is there is no more International manufacturing, logistics or stock issue. The issue is practically all bike shops use a company called CoolHeat if I recall correctly and they're the sole "agents" in SA. Also new bikes are prioritized e.g. a new Tarmac SL7 comes with a Ultegra 12speed DI2 groupo or SRAM ASX whatever and this is shipped via their own distribution network's. Lead the revolt, I'll join with my pitchfork.
  3. Think I’m going to give this a shot, I know the guys very well over here in Bryanston.
  4. Bought the Watch Ultra and I'm never going back to Garmin. Only "draw" back is the 3day battery
  5. Off topic but anyone know where you can source a remote detonator? Asking for a friend
  6. Hi hubbers. Opinion needed, Last year Oct\Nov I bought a bike from a fellow hubber, after 3 months of use I noticed a crack on the left chainstay. Thinking, okay this sucks but let me get it fixed.. after evaluation by a leading Carbon repair center I was told the frame is basically a paper weight as its been previously repaired (and very very badly- see pics attached) Do you think this is fair, should the seller carry responsibility? Note; the seller basically claims no knowledge of this and refers the issue to the previous owner that's now immigrated. I know I should have paid more attention to evaluating the bike before payment but i trusted my local Specialized that everything was fine, they received the bike from CPT and assembled it, not blaming them or anything. If anything I hope someone looking to buy reads this and takes a few extra moments to inspect what you're receiving. https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/road-bikes/442834/2013-specialized-s-works-roubaix
  7. Fair enough thank you, I admit my 9/10 comment was a tad excessive, I take your reply with me and will act accordingly in the future
  8. I'm one of those people using the "platform" for years. You guys antagonize and bait people with down right stupid and irrelevant responses and expect what?
  9. So why feel the need to post on the "bogus" topic in the first place? You make a silly comment and receive a very humerus PG response and then cry.. very South African Barry
  10. Give me a shout please Nick, contact me via my email and I'll share my cell. I'll show you what i'm talking about.
  11. I suspect you should get to work and stop talking sh#$
  12. @Nick, if you have a deeper look you will find a alot of these accounts review each other and rate each other in a closed loop. its clearly BS
  13. This user base needs a review and a cleanup, 9 out of 10 messages to buy is dodge AF. #Original message is a exaggeration 9/10 people is obviously not correct at all.
  14. From the sound of it it’s just another tale of a entitled Fourways boytjie\cyclist but boytjie first and most in his proverbial cradle promise land. If that was my car this chop kicked, he’d be having “billy the bums” flashbacks without the end of night boerie.
  15. If you can justify it get a pair of S-Works recons, it’s expensive but everything in this bloated industry is. Your feet will thank you.
  16. I’d suspect something in a mid tier range from any big brand maybe with a little discount if you have a relationship with the shop. nothing new with a S-Works logo tho I really like the new TCR’s and emonda‘a great do it all bikes, perhaps even a SL6. I’d personally go for the new Allez however getting one in SA is a problem. https://www.specialized.com/us/en/allez-sprint-frameset/p/189820?color=319029-189820 Complete Cyclist might import you one, worth asking I guess. if you’re willing to take a chance you could look at Chinese brands like Windspace or Trifox.
  17. 100% this oke told his mates, this is completely ego driven. I guarantee you he boasted to his "friends" how he just p@#Sed that guy. I'll bet the house, if no one was around nothing would have happened. Typical 4ways boet fighter boytjie.
  18. I second this, 2k to the gvp or any info about this POS
  19. I hope you find this p@&$ and sue the literal pants of his delinquent backside. assault with GBH = 6Y in SA finest correctional facilities. The same thing almost happened to me around a month ago. All I said was “come on guys” to a group taking up the entire road. We had to pass in oncoming traffic. The steroid boytjie proceeded to follow us to where Mike has his coffee truck, chucked his Argon 18 TT bike down and unzipped his one peace airo suit. happy birthday to the ground. It was touch and go and my mate defused the situation at 99. I have to admit at 95kg’s and by no means a scaredy-cat I was 100% losing that fight. although I’m adding some humorous flavour to this reply the entire ordeal really stuck with me for a few weeks. As a adult you should not have to square up on a Sunday bike ride out with your wife.
  20. You’re 100% right, I’ve seen a few bikes listed for more then the original asking price in 201-.
  21. I feel most people over value second hands bikes generally speaking thus bloating prices. I’m sorry but I bet your 2015 29nr isn’t worth 30k.
  22. I got lambasted the other day by hinting at how crazy prices are. All this does is bloat a already way over inflated market.
  23. We should send second hand prices to /dev/null know what i'm saying. but in all honestly its a general problem.
