Forgive my ignorance here... but wouldn't it be easier to throw the CC chip back at them and then go get the WT chip? Wouldn't CC then get the message?

Hi all. I want to raise the height of the handles bars a tad since after a two hour ride I want to cry thanks to back pain! Is it easy to just add a spacer to the steerer Is there a certain distance you can't go past? Any help would be appreciated since I want to do this tonight so I can ride tomorrow (hopefully without pain!).

That's just not cricket! I think a phone call to the person concerned would be common sense.

Doesn't actually cost anything, how could it be a rip-off? I think it's a good idea, once registered you get a ROAG number, and when you go to events just give them the number and all your details are there. Good idea I think.

I've voted in the other poll... the one about making both of them ambassadors... so on my way home I'll stop and buy whasp gel as well, and if available, the flask as well, it's for a good cause

Perhaps I still too new, but I can only go by my own experiences with CyclingSA and what I read and am told by others, and if I'm wrong I'll be the first to apologise... but it does seem like nothing but gripes! Hope they sought you out though.

I'm not a huge fan of CyclingSA, so not at all surprised that something like this has happened. I just wonder if the person responsible for the oversight will stand and say sorry, or whether there will just be stony silence as usual?

I think there's something seriously wrong with cycling in South Africa. Maybe it's a case of too many Chiefs and not enough Indians? On the chip side there's CC and WT, both of which I've noticed people complain about. Trying to buy a license from CycleSA is an exercise in patience which I'm failing horribly... there's the complaints against MyRace that go on and on.... it seems like cycling in South Africa is a bit of a disaster area. Granted I'm a newby at all this... but honestly it seems more trouble than its worth! Just my 2c

I've only been mtb'ing for about 3 months now, but the bug has definitely bitten in a bad way. One thing I've noticed is that I'm now constantly hungry, all the time I just want to eat! I'm trying to keep an eye on what I eat, to the point of keeping a diary, but eating right I think is the hardest part. I'm riding about 25 k's every two days, but I am putting on weight. The positive thing is that I feel better now than I've ever felt before

I don't know DiCPD from a bar of soap, but I think the way you've handled this sux. She mentions something about 'promises' being made which to me implies there was some sought of discussion with someone in your organization? Have you made the effort to find out the details? For you too just say she "blew" her chances like that on an open forum displays a surprising lack of professionalism on your part... especially considering your objective in finding good brand ambassadors. You should have pm'd her for details.

Really... you think so? Perhaps I didn't make it clear the first time, so let me try again... it hangs when I try to finalise the payment. And more to the point, why can't I just deposit the money into an account at the bank? What about those who don't have access to the internet, or maybe don't have credit cards?

I've been trying to register with CyclingSA on their web-site, it's a nightmare! Every time I get to the "pay" part, the the site freezes up on me (and yes, I checked that it's not me). So I phoned the contact number, where upon a voice informs me the number is not in use. I sent an email, which was replied to (as in... "just phone this cell number"), where the lady told me she's just sending my email on. Then nothing. Even if it's a problem on my side, something to do with my connection or something that causes the site to freeze up, surely I can just do a deposit... but I was told "no", since I had already started an online application. With all the complaints I've read about CyclingSA on the hub, how can they still be in operation? Maybe "Tread" can do an expose or something... name and shame them, or at least figure out how "myrace" which doesn't seem to work got the contract! Okay, rant finished now.

Thanks Johan, that will help quite a bit. I was going to machine my own, or even look at making carbon fiber testers, but maybe I'll just buy them outright.

Carbon strength really comes from the direction of the fibers in relation to the stress points as well as the resin used, the amount of layers ect... but I can't see how the 'twist' would add anything but 'eye-candy'.

Hopefully going to get out there tomorrow is there a problem with their website? Can't seem to get on... just seems to load and load and not get anywhere?

Hi all. I apologise if my terminology is wrong, but I'm wanting to find out the the size of the 'bottom bracket'. I need the internal diameter, internal diameter as well as length. Oh and the thread size. Also, can you purchase then separately? Any help appreciated. Thanks

Don't know how effective they are since I don't ride anywhere hard enough to have this problem, but a mate of mine who does swears by bananas, both before and after. Hope it helps.
