  1. Best tyre by far! Done 3000 km + on my set with 2 punctures thus far. Soft compound cuts easier than Gatorskin but overall a much smother feel.
  2. Well said! You have to give credit where credit is due. Not saying what he did is acceptable, but he worked extremely hard on and of the bike to keep this ship afloat for nearly 2 decades.
  3. Surely LA did not introduce PED's into cycling. The peleton has been doped up way before his time. He might have taken it to a new dimension... all speculation.
  4. Scalpel plus his one legged companion all the way!
  5. Epic definitely had a bike wash on the last day. The only difference being you had to take your bike to the Pragma guys, they did not fetch it on the finish line.
  6. I've used both and can honestly say that I do not want to own another Polar product till they sort out the strap-sensor-unit communication. Garmin is a good product, user friendly but the battery life is a pain in the backside especially on stage races when your tent is not equipped with an electrical outlet... Garmin gets my vote
  7. I came across the scene this morning on my commute to work. Very sad indeed. Driver must have been blinded by the sun, but still the speed at which she was traveling must have been insane!
  8. Contact Hot Spot Cycles they do have some in stock Shop 3.23 Atterbury Value Mart Faerie Glen Pretoria 0081 South Africa info@hotspotcycles.co.za (012) 991 6052 (012) 991 6063 +27823152991 http://www.hotspotcycles.co.za
  9. Though as nails but very rewarding in the end! Ample time to reflect....on whatever
  10. Thor was amazing, hanging in there when the gradient kicked skyward!
  11. Here are some pics of the Time bikes to be ridden in the tour this year.
  12. Had a similar issue after doing a software update on my Edge. It just wouldn't detect my heart rate, rather gave an error message "detecting multiple heart rate straps" I sent Garmin an email and 2 weeks later they released a later software version (2.8) which rectified the problem. Give them a shout.

  14. Someone took a tub of Vaseline and applied it liberally to the lens...
  15. VB and VM started in the same bunch, just as VA and elite ladies! Nothing illegal here, thats the way they were seeded.
  16. Just read Malcolm Lange’s tweet, the flights to PE seemed to be a huge cock up. Once again CSA was no where to be found to assist the riders. CSA is an embarrassment to the cycling community of this country.
  17. We have got a lot to learn! Why did CSA not involve someone like ASO, this is a huge International event, sadly nobody knows about it due to the lack of advertising. CSA should wake up and smell the roses. Two major blunders in succession at the country’s most important events.
  18. I use a Edge 305 and total ascent can be viewed "live" since the unit is equipped with an altimeter. According to my knowledge the 305 Forerunner does not have a barometric altimeter hence no altitude read out on the bike; however the software calculates the altitude only once the data is downloaded to your pc by tracking sat position etc.
  19. Endless problems with my Polar CS200 . Got myself a Garmin all smiles!
  20. Please accept my sincere apology for being so rude <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> The error/typo was just too big not to be picked up by the author trying to prove a theory. Indeed an interesting subject, way more complicated to calculate the net result, but I have to agree for a real world application the gain/loss will be negligible.
