I'm happy now. Got my seeding finally. Hope it doesn't change. The email said that it could move around a few groups in the final seeding run.

Glad the seedings are out. I'm happy starting in E at 6:43.

Cycle tour website said seedings will be sent out midway through january. Nothing yet. Hope it comes out soon

where in claremont do you start? what is the pace like?

I did see a group in that area this morning going towards town. After a bit of rain this morning the day really cleared up on my ride.

I went out this morning on a loop around Ou Kaaps, Chapman's and then Constantia Neck. I'm still feeling the venom of the cobra, heart rate wouldn't go up... It would be nice to see if there are any big groups that ride. I've only really seen lone riders.

I've had a careful look at the disclaimer and the terms and conditions and they do pay out damages in the event of serious negligence. ACSA are indeed one of their agents but Kulula has a duty to ensure that their agents do an adequate job. I'll see how things go. At least i can still ride the bike.

@Johan: Well its even uglier now as i've filed off the paint to see if there's any cracks. There's a slight lip on the top as well. Will still have it checked out. @Wannabe: I flew Kulula up and down. On the way up was when I saw it lying under hundreds of suitcases but i was only able to ride like 3 times so didn't notice the damage. I don't think i'll be flying with my bike any time soon. The decision now is whether to fight Kulula for it. The bike is insured as well but everything's such a hassle

When i picked it up at the airport in joburg i saw it lying under all the bags on those luggage carts. i'm sure something like that counts as some serious negligence

It was boxed and the one wheel was on that side. Everything was wrapped in bubble wrap and cardboard though so it would have taken something strong to cause this damage.

I'll have it looked at tomorrow, so much for having just started my hectic Argus training regime. I raced on it today and put quite a lot of force on but obviously consequences of damage like this onyl present themselves after some time. Thanks for the help

When i arrived in joburg i looked through the flaps waiting for my bike box and was horrified to see how the baggage handlers throw most of the luggage making no effort to take care of people's possessions.

I did and they said that they don't accept any liability for baggage but gave me an email address. Also the carousel was littered with plastic that had broken off people's luggage. Oh well, hope i can make a claim. Otherwise i've got insurance. I've cycled about 65km on the bike since and only noticed the dent now.

Well i flew a bike rack down as well and the whole box was squashed inwards (so much for looking after stuff marked fragile) so i have a pretty good idea how my bike was treated.

Hi, i recently found a dent in my bottom tube after i flew with my bike down from joburg. Its just above the bottle cage on the top of the tube. Its an aluminium frame. Is this something I should be very worried about?

I agree, they obviously didn't think that it was christmas. I know Virgin Active is closed. Also what is the need for a rest day on the 4th day of your training. surely people that are aiming for a sub 3 ride already. i'd expect a rest day to be on like a monday after a tough weekend
