  1. Previously I've sung the praises of the Decathlon strap and monitor. The second (or third) Gen currently available has let me down. Constant HR drops. I've changed batteries which solves the problem for about a week before it acts up again. Picked up the Polar H9 unit last week. Feels a bit heavier (?), but so far no issues, seems much more stabler than others I've used
  2. Been toying with the idea of a tandem for a while now. What is the "correct" age to start the young ones on a tandem. Twins are almost 7 & half, and this could give us some riding together time.
  3. I've been using the Decathlon HR monitor for a while. Much cheaper than Garmin and Wahoo and it's Ant + and BT. They upgraded the units last year or the year before. I've only had issues once the battery is close to done
  4. Emails incoming with seeding
  5. Supposedly via the Portal...
  6. Just couldn't get it to work tonight. Woosh would just bomb out after 5min. After the 3rd time I called it quits. Tried Rolla but it wants me to download some or other app to do a virtual ride..... Couldn't find Rolla world or whatever it's called in the Android app store. The Rolla screen reminds me a little of pictures of the Karoo (the cycling computer obviously) screens......
  7. I run Woosh on my Android ( Note 9 using Android 10). I do get some buffering and graphics issues every now and then. Issues: Sometimes I'll be in the middle of a ride and it will bomb out. If you then go into the app again, it will show the ride and allow an upload, but then you have to start over again - stupid if you were halfway through one of their challenges. I can't listen to music off the phone while riding. I would usually start the music, then start Woosh. Ride starts and 1-2 min later, the music will stop ( at the same time the Garmin will show Phone disconnected). If you try and go to music to start it again, yes, you guessed it, Woosh stops and you have to start again. Going to try and find a second hand tablet to use on Woosh so I can have my phone to myself again 🙂
  8. Myself and another dad was discussion some of the bikes we see at the schools series up here in GP. You can clearly see who is there for fun, and who means business. Interesting also, is that in the Sub Nipper class, the bikes vary from 14 to 24", I'm sure there's even some small 29rs in there. My 7 year old, currently on a 20" Titan, had a go on the spare 24" we have but it is still a little big, stopping is definitely a challenge. Also, he doesn't seem to bother with the 7 speeds gears on the 20", but rather set and forget and rides it like a single speed
  9. I had the opposite experience. Bought it but couldn't get it to work properly with my son. He kept leaning sideways and I couldn't get it tight enough on my seat post, even with a few layers of tubing to protect the post Probably user error but still something to keep in mind. I sold mine again within a month of buying it.
  10. Naked is backed by Hollard ( as is Cyclesure). Had my car insured with them and had no issues when I wrote it off in April. to the OP, I'm assuming you are with FNB Insure ( direct) adn not through their Brokerage? The Brokerage places business with Santam and Hollard ( and others off platform). Or approach another broker ( corporate brokers such as AON, Indwe, ect usually has good offerings) , there are others that support cycling ( just look at some of the sponsor logos on the pro's kits - Efficient Insure, TIG, etc)
  11. Jut a thought, Ant is saying the knobblies is sketchy, and everyone is now suggesting slicks or semi slicks? Won't he have even less grip?

That gent might have been me. Both tubes I had, had leaky valves. I had 2 Gents offer me bombs and another a tube. If you were one of those, I owe you a beer!

  14. Your policy probably states under the General Conditions ( those apply to all sections of your policy) that the company will indemnify you via, " repair, replace or pay cash or any combination there of" the scratches will be hard to prove that it was as result of the theft - so that might be excluded. The first option will be to repair the crack
