  1. Please share your .gpx track you have routed om Garmin...

Hi, I mapped the route last night on Garmin, and according to that the Rooiberg waterpoint is at +-242km (CP 3 still at 280), so you may just relook your expectations for that stage which is actually 38k's and not 28. Maybe someone who has done before can check.

  2. my instagram account is mostly family with occasional bike and surf stuff. So not very exciting. feel free @popcorn_skollie

same here, specially after our bikes got stolen

  3. Definitely worth it. Still use mine with the four year old laaitie (and his little sister). Don't tell his mom/judge my reckless parenting, but I often take him down g-spot here in Stellies... He really enjoys it, shouting "whooohooo, this is FUN!" die hele pad af. He quickly learnt to "HOU VAS!"

My little girl (2) is starting to enjoy it too. I found that on the first rides, when she was about 20 months, she struggled to hold the handlebar properly. But you simply adjust what you attempt to ride to what the kid can safely handle.

    Thanks Patensie,

will go past Sportmans Warehouse today.

No judgement from my side   :-)

  4. I used one of these . . .  Similar concept to the one Brandon78 advised.

Work wonders on my carbon bike. Can not really scratch the bike.

Put on and take off very quickly or switch between bikes.

Works good on my carbon full suspension.

Think it was R550 at Sportmans Warehouse.

My kid rode on it from 12months till 2years.

I looked at one of these over the weekend.

Also have a carbon frame. It looked a bit flimsy.

    Is it worth getting one?

  5. The graspolle was not fun at all... Will only considering  doing it again on a dual suspension. Really did not enjoy the last section where the route join up with the 30km. Cant pass them because of the back markers coming head on. Nearly took out a lady around a corner.

  6. I'd recommend staying off the black. Red Phoenix should be fine with a hardtail unless your name is Norman NoSkills... Apparently it's like Fire Hut was, but steeper and faster. Fire Hut was a VERY flowy trail... Absolutely sublime though.

I wouldn't go near the Black trail on a hardtail unless you had tons of skill. Even then, probably not advisable.

    Thanks Myles

  7. Why a Salomon hydration pack? Plenty of other suitable packs in the market such as Ultraspire and Osprey. I'm actually going to get myself the Osprey Rev 12 which can also double as hydration pack for MTBing.

Had a lovely couple of trail runs in Sabie over New Year and came across Dennis Lawrie setting up the route for the SA Trail champs at the end of the month.

I used my brothers Salomon hydration pack and it fits perfectly.
