  1. brilliant season new DH format was actually better exciting youngsters stepping up immediately to shake things up the goat didnt feature as prominantly but had a decent season XCC and XCO wide open love watching nino still showing the young guns how to do it a true champion hatherly hung in there and was a constant in the top 10 would say the tv coverage was better the sport is growing exciting times
  2. Irma all the way, she knows the industry well and picked up a few things no previous bikefit had. highly recommend. and on top of everything she's down to earth and a lekker person.
  3. wonder why they didn't try sell the event ?
  4. some changes at Santa Cruz Syndicate.. Luca Shaw is out but Laurie Greenland and Jackson Goldstone (2021 junior DH champ) are in
  5. I'm also thinking of riding there on Saturday. Was planning from the Goddess trail (park at Tokara then start just off Helshoogte on the Stellenbosch side) - to Start of Banhoek Conservancy - Botmanskop SkyTraverse - Camissa up Oldenburg road - Nick Nacks - Bethlehem SkyTraverse - into Boschendal. But did read a while back that Botmanskop had some safety issues ?
  6. not sure I ever seen a race being won by a margin of 0.032 seconds... anybody clever enough to work out what distance separated Reece Wilson (3min 10.066s) and Loic Bruni (3min 10.098s) ? can't find info for the track length yesterday but 2019 was 3,36 km could it be that Reece won by 5.7cm ?
  7. Top weekend of riding. From start to finish everything was just lekker. Sign in was easy and uncomplicated. The routes well marked. The trails next level. Thanks to the good folk of Piketberg for a real treat. Hope we can do this again ! And this open weekend format just works.
  8. Louis and his team are amongst the best. And your shout out to them confirms this.
  9. My Pyga fell off my trailer on the N1 freeway under the Durban Road bridge (direction Paarl) at about 8am this morning I doubled back via the next off ramp to retrieve the bike but found nothing My new Tygerberg membership board no 436 was attached to the bike If anybody has any information, would appreciate to hear back Thanks
  10. the 45km was mind blowing, really amazing riding. the 25km not too shabby either (and this is the only trail actually open to ride throughout the year if you stay at the Retreat guest farm). the 30km very very cool. a privilege to ride these trails. actually think this 'open weekend' is better than the more traditional racing format of the old days.
  11. Rode on Saturday - wouldn't say you need to download the map as it's well sign posted and snapscan payment option (was told that Tygerberg members need to pay R100). Lots of climbing but great riding. Remote and rugged up top with cool runnings as your reward on the way down.
  12. If I buy a new bike in Europe and personally bring it back into SA by plane, what duty/charges can I expect to pay at Customs ? Would there be any difference if I only bring the frame back ?
  13. Did the 45km Wild Boar loop yesterday. Along the way there are various options to do shorter loops. Amazing riding with loads of singletrack. Remote and tuff and challenging and very lekker. A lot of the ride is in shade but it does get pretty warm so start early bells.
